Job Description:
TO BE USED FOR GBS INDIA ONLY : To Be used for regulated roles : Possesses knowledge in a specialized function or skill gained through work experience or formal training. Supervisory role with responsibility to deliver critical to quality metrics for the lines of businesses that he/she supports. May recommend solutions to moderately complex problems, lead or train other associates or supervise highly routine work. Typical span of control would range from 10-15 people. Possesses leadership, communication and problem solving skills. May perform a specialist role in a support function performing routine transactions or functional activities. May also perform specialist roles like quality control, process level reporting of metrics, special projects for the line of business, etc. Incumbents would be Graduates / Post Graduates with 60 - 84 months of work experience with 18 - 24 months of experience of leading a team.

Process Overview

Quantitative Strategies and Data Group:

The Quantitative Strategies and Data Group (QSDG) is part of the Global Business Services Team. The QSDG UMR Initiatives team is responsible for supporting Trade Compression and IM Optimization Initiatives. The team provides:

  • Driving trade compression initiatives by automating manual processes to enhance efficiency, strengthening reporting to highlight trends, implementing process improvements, and conducting ad-hoc analysis on compression metrics to identify opportunities for improving overall compression efficiency.
  • Supporting IM and SA-CCR optimization initiatives to reduce Initial Margin and RWA at the firm level, driving funding cost efficiencies through automation of manual processes, enhanced reporting and trend analysis, understanding desk-driven changes, and conducting ad-hoc analysis to identify new product opportunities and improve margin optimization outcomes.
  • The team supports co-development initiatives and collaborates with the technology team to implement changes in the production environment, focusing on process automation, developing new automation solutions, and migrating Excel-based models to Python-driven frameworks.

Job Description

Process Automation:

  • Understand the process and device tech solutions to automate them
  • Prototype these solutions for review and then work with Technology team to implement
  • Support the team with issues pertaining to suggested technology implementations

Process Development:

  • Identify issues and control gaps in existing infrastructure
  • Device technical solutions to streamline the processes and enhance data integrity and control
  • Should have good understanding of financial products, their structure and underlying risk to be able to implement such projects
  • Should be able to understand the financial implications of these projects and be responsible for the quality and timeliness of the deliverables
  • Have to work with varied technology applications for solutions implementation

Responsibilities

  • Structure the overall process flow for automation and automate using python scripts
  • Device solutions and build prototype and maintain it till it gets implemented by technology
  • Implementation of relevant project management practices (status reporting, issue tracking etc)
  • Day to day responsibility for managing the project with the Desk, technology and other partners

Requirements

  • Education: B.Tech/B.E. from Tier1 or Tier2 colleges is needed, Masters Degree in Finance, Economics or Financial Quantitative Analysis will be preferred
  • Certifications If Any: Any certifications related to Coding/Testing will be preferred
  • Experience Range: 2-5 years of experience working in a technology role for a finance institution
  • Mandatory skills:
    • Strong technical skills including experience of using MS Office, SQL, Python and VBA
    • Experience of code implementation, writing test cases and performing test cycles
    • Experience of handling large set of data and knowledge of coding standards will be preferred.
    • Strong analytical skills
  • Desired skills:
    • Good communication skills
    • Knowledge or experience of working with trading products in capital markets: Knowledge of: Fixed Income products, Futures, Options, Indexes, CDS, CDO, FRAs, SWAPs, SWAPTIONs, CAPs/FLOOR will be preferred
    • Knowledge of Financial Risk Management: Value at Risk. Knowledge of Interest Rates, FX Products
