Factory Manager – Job Description

Position Title: Factory Manager

Location: Rabale MIDC, Navi Mumbai

Reporting To: Factory Owner / Director

Salary Range: ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 per month

Work Timing: 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM (must coordinate with night shift if required)

Industry: Plastic Bottle & Cap Manufacturing (Injection & Blow Moulding)

Age Criteria: 25-45 Years

Education Criteria: Preferably Graduate

Industry Criteria: Preferably Plastic

🔧 Role Overview:

The Factory Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the plastic manufacturing unit, ensuring smooth production, labor supervision, machine efficiency, and timely dispatch. The role requires hands-on experience with plastic moulding processes, excellent planning ability, and basic data/reporting skills.

🛠️ Key Duties and Responsibilities:

🔹 Production Management

• Plan daily production based on orders and raw material availability
• Ensure all machines run efficiently and are properly utilized
• Supervise mould changeovers and monitor cycle times
• Maintain daily production reports (in Excel or Google Sheets)

🔹 Machine & Mould Oversight

• Oversee proper machine startup, operation, and shutdown
• Ensure regular mould and machine cleaning and preventive maintenance
• Report breakdowns or maintenance needs promptly

🔹 Labor & Shift Supervision

• Assign machine operators and helpers based on production priorities
• Monitor attendance, shift handovers, and productivity
• Train and discipline staff when required

🔹 Raw Material & Inventory Coordination

• Coordinate with stores to ensure timely availability of granules, color masterbatch, caps, etc.
• Maintain buffer stock and reduce wastage
• Verify material usage vs output to detect variances

🔹 Quality Control

• Conduct first-piece approvals and in-process quality checks
• Monitor bottle/cap defects (leakage, fitment, shrinkage)
• Coordinate with QC team or owner to address rejections

🔹 Dispatch & Packing Coordination

• Coordinate with dispatch assistant for timely packaging and loading
• Verify that packing is done as per product and client requirements
• Support in updating finished goods inventory

🔹 Reporting & Communication

• Submit daily and weekly production summaries
• Report issues affecting delivery timelines or machine availability
• Participate in weekly planning or review meetings

✅ Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in plastic manufacturing (preferably bottles/caps)
• Experience with servo-based injection moulding machines (e.g., Windsor, Milacron)
• Knowledge of production scheduling, mold changeover, and manpower handling
• Comfortable using Excel/Google Sheets for basic reporting
• Ability to coordinate with dispatch and inventory teams
• Strong problem-solving, multitasking, and leadership skills
