Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated Commis Chef to join our culinary team at Sparrows at home cafe . As a entry-level chef, you will work directly alongside our senior Chef to learn knife skills, mis en place preparation, and proper line execution. If you are passionate about food, eager to learn high-standard cooking techniques, and thrive under fast-paced kitchen energy, this is the perfect starting point for your culinary career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prep Work & Mise en Place: Wash, peel, chop, and portion ingredients (vegetables, meats, sauces) according to standard recipes and station requirements.
  • Station Support: Assist Chef de Parties during service, ensuring stations stay stocked, clean, and prepped for high-volume service.
  • Food Safety & Hygiene: Adhere strictly to food safety guidelines, correct storage temperatures, labeling/dating systems (FIFO), and personal hygiene standards.
