Position: Quality Control Engineer

Department: Quality / Inspection

Experience: 2–5 Years

Location: Bhosari

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Quality Control Engineer with mandatory experience in Tool Room Manufacturing. The candidate should have strong hands-on knowledge of CMM software, 3D scanning software, PolyWorks software, and in-process inspection. The role involves dimensional inspection, quality verification, measurement analysis, and ensuring that manufactured components meet drawing and customer requirements.

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Perform in-process inspection at various stages of tool room manufacturing.
  • Conduct final inspection of components, dies, moulds, tools, fixtures, and precision components.
  • Operate and program CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) for dimensional inspection.
  • Prepare and interpret CMM inspection reports as per engineering drawings and customer requirements.
  • Work with 3D scanning equipment and scanning software for dimensional and profile inspection.
  • Use PolyWorks software for scan data processing, alignment, comparison, and inspection reporting.
  • Perform dimensional inspection using instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, dial gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Read and interpret 2D engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and specifications.
  • Verify component dimensions, profiles, geometries, and critical features against drawings/models.
  • Identify quality issues, dimensional deviations, and manufacturing defects.
  • Coordinate with the Tool Room, Production, CNC, VMC, EDM, Wire Cut, and other manufacturing teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Provide feedback to manufacturing teams regarding dimensional corrections and process improvements.
  • Maintain inspection records, measurement reports, rejection reports, and quality documentation.
  • Support root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for quality issues.
  • Ensure proper calibration and usage of inspection and measuring equipment.
  • Maintain quality standards and ensure compliance with company/customer specifications.
  • Support customer inspections and quality-related documentation when required.
  • Mandatory Skills & ExperienceMandatory experience in Tool Room Manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience in CMM operation and CMM software.
  • Experience with 3D scanning and scanning software.
  • Working knowledge of PolyWorks software is mandatory/preferred.
  • Strong experience in in-process inspection.
  • Good knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawings.
  • Experience in inspection of tools, dies, moulds, fixtures, jigs, and precision components.
  • Knowledge of precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques.
  • Ability to analyze measurement data and prepare inspection reports.
  • Educational QualificationDiploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in Tool Room Quality/Inspection will be highly preferred.
  • Key CompetenciesStrong attention to detail.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to identify dimensional and manufacturing defects.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with cross-functional manufacturing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of precision engineering and quality inspection.

Preferred Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate will have hands-on Tool Room Manufacturing and Quality Inspection experience, with practical expertise in CMM, 3D scanning, PolyWorks, GD&T, and in-process inspection. Candidates without relevant Tool Room Manufacturing experience should not be considered.
