Job Description Senior Platform Engineer Cloud Data Shared Services

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Platform Engineer to join our Shared Engineering Services team In this role you will design build and maintain the foundational cloud infrastructure deployment pipelines and data platforms that empower our product engineering teams

You will bridge the gap between core infrastructure and application development with a specific focus on scaling our cloudnative ecosystem AWS Kubernetes automating our CICD workflows and managing enterprisegrade data platforms Databricks MongoDB Atlas As a champion of DevOps culture you will ensure our shared services are secure highly observable resilient and developer friendly

Key Responsibilities

1 Cloud Container Orchestration AWS Kubernetes

Design provision and manage scalable secure and highly available infrastructure on AWS using Infrastructure as Code IaC

Architect operate and optimize multitenant Kubernetes clusters EKS to support microservices and data workloads

Implement cluster autoscaling resource quotas network policies and ingress controllers to ensure optimal performance and cost efficiency

2 Data Platform Engineering Databricks MongoDB Atlas

Administer secure and optimize our Databricks workspace environment ensuring seamless integration with AWS data lakes S3 and identity providers

Manage and scale MongoDB Atlas database deployments including cluster configuration performance tuning backup strategies and access controls

Collaborate with data engineers and data scientists to provide selfservice tooling for data processing analytics and storage

3 DevOps CICD Automation

Build maintain and continuously improve robust CICD pipelines to automate application builds testing and deployments

Standardize deployment patterns across the organization using GitOps methodologies and Helm charts

Drive the adoption of Infrastructure as Code IaC using tools like Terraform to eliminate manual provisioning

4 Observability Reliability Engineering

Establish comprehensive Observability frameworks across all platforms including centralized logging metrics collection and distributed tracing using tools like Prometheus Grafana Datadog or OpenTelemetry

Define and monitor Service Level Indicators SLIs and Service Level Objectives SLOs for critical shared services

Design and implement proactive ing selfhealing mechanisms and disaster recovery procedures

5 Security Compliance DevSecOps

Embed Security best practices into every stage of the software delivery lifecycle ShiftLeft Security

Implement robust Identity and Access Management IAM policies secrets management eg HashiCorp Vault AWS Secrets Manager and network security controls

Conduct vulnerability scanning container image audits and compliance checks to align with industry standards and internal security policies

6 Shared Engineering Services Collaboration

Develop and maintain selfservice internal developer platforms IDPs to reduce cognitive load on application teams

Provide technical mentorship documentation and support to engineering teams adopting shared platform services

Participate in oncall rotations and lead rootcause analyses RCAs for platformlevel incidents to drive continuous improvement

Required Technical Skills Qualifications

Core Experience

Experience 10 years of experience in DevOps Platform Engineering or Site Reliability Engineering SRE roles

Cloud Platform Deep expertise in AWS services EC2 S3 VPC IAM EKS RDS Route53 AWS certifications are a strong plus

Containerization Strong handson experience managing productiongrade Kubernetes clusters container runtimes Dockercontainerd and Helm

Data Infrastructure Proven experience administering Databricks workspaces clusters unity catalog and MongoDB Atlas or equivalent managed NoSQL databases

Infrastructure as Code Advanced proficiency with Terraform or CloudFormation

CICD Tooling Experience building pipelines with Jenkins GitLab CI GitHub Actions or Harness

Observability Stack Handson experience with Prometheus Grafana ELKOpenSearch Datadog or similar monitoring suites

ScriptingProgramming Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language eg Python Bash Go for automation

Preferred Qualifications Soft Skills

Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and modern software development practices

Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a passion for helping other developers succeed Shared Services mindset

Experience with GitOps tools ArgoCD and service meshes Istio Linkerd

Familiarity with data governance compliance
