Job Description – Project Engineer (CFS Datacenter) – IBMS Background
Location: Mumbai
Department: Datacenter Projects / Critical Facilities Services (CFS)
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer with experience in Integrated Building Management Systems (IBMS/BMS) for Datacenter projects. The candidate will be responsible for planning, execution, commissioning, testing, and coordination of IBMS systems across critical datacenter environments while ensuring adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute and manage IBMS/BMS installation, testing, commissioning, and integration activities for datacenter projects.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, OEMs, vendors, and internal stakeholders during project execution.
- Review technical drawings, BOQs, specifications, schematics, and control logic related to BMS/IBMS systems.
- Monitor project schedules, resource allocation, and site activities to ensure timely delivery.
- Supervise field engineers, subcontractors, and installation teams.
- Perform FAT, SAT, loop checks, point-to-point testing, and system validation.
- Ensure seamless integration of HVAC, Electrical, Fire Alarm, Access Control, CCTV, EPMS, and other critical building systems with IBMS.
- Prepare project documentation, progress reports, commissioning reports, and handover documents.
- Troubleshoot system issues and provide technical support during commissioning and post-deployment phases.
- Adhere to safety standards, quality procedures, and datacenter compliance requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Automation, or related engineering discipline.
- 3–8 years of experience in BMS/IBMS projects, preferably in Datacenter, Commercial Buildings, Hospitals, Airports, or Critical Infrastructure projects.
- Hands-on experience with IBMS/BMS platforms such as Schneider EcoStruxure, Honeywell EBI, Siemens Desigo, Johnson Controls Metasys, Delta Controls, or equivalent.
- Understanding of HVAC controls, Chillers, AHUs, PAC systems, Electrical Monitoring Systems, Fire & Security integrations.
- Knowledge of communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, OPC, TCP/IP, and SNMP.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and control schematics.
Desired Skills
- Datacenter project experience will be preferred.
- Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Willingness to travel across project sites as required.
Preferred Certifications
- BMS/IBMS OEM Certifications.
- PMP/Prince2 (added advantage).
- Datacenter or Critical Facilities certifications (preferred).
