Job Description

A hospital accountant manages the specialized financial operations of a healthcare facility. Unlike general accountants, they handle medical billing, health insurance claims, doctor payouts, and medical inventory tracking while ensuring strict compliance with healthcare regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesRevenue Cycle Management: Oversee patient invoicing, process insurance claims, and manage reconciliations with Third-Party Administrators (TPAs).Doctor & Staff Compensation: Calculate specialized payouts, bonuses, and incentives for visiting and full-time medical consultants.Inventory & Asset Tracking: Partner with procurement teams to audit high-value medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, and surgical supplies.Tariff & Cost Analysis: Assist leadership in pricing hospital room rates, diagnostic tests, and surgical packages.Taxation & Compliance: File specific healthcare statutory returns, manage Tax Deducted at Source (TDS), and oversee Goods and Services Tax (GST) allocations.
