# Backend Engineer

We are looking for a skilled and motivated **Backend Engineer** to join our growing technology team. You will work on the backend systems powering our upcoming products, including a **food-ordering platform** and an **AI-powered video processing and clipping platform**.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable building scalable APIs, working with databases and background processing systems, integrating third-party services, and developing reliable production-ready software.

## Role & Responsibilities

* Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using **Python and FastAPI**.

* Build and maintain REST APIs for web and mobile applications.

* Design and manage **PostgreSQL databases**, including schemas, relationships, indexes, and queries.

* Implement authentication, authorization, user roles, and secure API access.

* Develop asynchronous background-processing systems using **Celery, Redis, or similar technologies**.

* Build reliable job queues for long-running tasks such as AI processing, video processing, notifications, and other automated workflows.

* Integrate third-party APIs, webhooks, payment gateways, and external services.

* Develop backend infrastructure for multi-user SaaS applications.

* Work with large file and video-processing workflows where required.

* Build APIs and services that communicate with AI/ML and video-processing workers.

* Implement proper error handling, logging, retries, validation, and monitoring.

* Optimize backend performance, database queries, and API response times.

* Implement secure file uploads, storage, and access systems.

* Work with cloud storage and services such as S3-compatible object storage.

* Write clean, maintainable, modular, and well-documented code.

* Write unit and integration tests using **Pytest**.

* Participate in code reviews and maintain development standards using Git.

* Work closely with **AI/ML engineers, frontend developers, Flutter developers, DevOps engineers, and QA engineers**.

* Troubleshoot and resolve production issues.

* Help design the technical architecture as the products scale.

## Preferred Candidate Profile

* 3+ years of professional backend development experience.

* Strong knowledge of **Python**.

* Strong experience with **FastAPI**, Django, or similar backend frameworks.

* Strong understanding of REST APIs and backend architecture.

* Good knowledge of **PostgreSQL and SQL**.

* Experience with **Redis** and asynchronous processing.

* Experience with **Celery, RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar queue systems**.

* Good understanding of authentication, authorization, JWT, OAuth, and API security.

* Experience with Docker and Linux.

* Strong Git/GitHub or GitLab experience.

* Experience building and integrating third-party APIs and webhooks.

* Understanding of database optimization, indexing, transactions, and query optimization.

* Experience writing automated tests with Pytest or similar frameworks.

* Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

* Ability to design modular and scalable backend systems.

* Strong debugging and problem-solving abilities.

* Good communication and teamwork skills.

* Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned features.
