SUMMARY: The WebGL Software Engineer will play a key role in charting the future development of software applications that guide users through the entire process of managing projects from estimating, detailing, and procuring doors, frames and related hardware through to project completion.

 

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Act as a key contributor within a collaborative software development team, responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and maintaining software applications throughout the full development lifecycle. Contribute to multiple concurrent projects, including new application development, product upgrades, and feature enhancements, while leveraging a broad range of technical and problem-solving skills.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Developing and maintaining web applications using JavaScript, Three.js, React, CSS and Blender tool.
• Analysing and estimating requested enhancements, feature changes, and development efforts.
• Evaluating software products, development tools, testing frameworks, productivity tools, and operating environments to support business and technical goals.
• Assessing opportunities to extend applications across mobile platforms and emerging technologies.
• Determining effective approaches for integrating new requirements into existing application architectures and multilingual codebases.
• Defining requirements and technical solutions for software enhancements and new functionality.
• Designing cohesive and user-centric experiences by integrating internal and external product components.
• Developing and promoting automated testing capabilities through effective software design practices.
• Identifying and implementing architectural roadmaps that support future scalability and technology evolution.
• Maintaining coding standards, technical documentation, and development best practices.
• Staying current with technological advancements and industry trends to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

 

RELATIONSHIPS/CONTACTS

• Reports directly to the Manager, Application Development. 
• Works with employees at all levels of the organization.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering who are good in Maths

 

EXPERIENCE:

A Minimum of 5-8 years related experience developing software in a business production environment.

 

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE and/or ABILITIES

Successful candidates will likely have at least 3-5 years of experience in a professional capacity with the following technologies:

• • Strong JavaScript (ES6+ / TypeScript): Deep understanding of core JavaScript concepts. You must be highly comfortable with the event loop, memory management, closures, asynchronous programming (Promises/Async-Await), and performance optimization at the language level.
  • Three.js Mastery: 3+ years of hands-on experience building complex 3D scenes. Deep knowledge of the Three.js scene graph, cameras, lighting setups, shadows, geometry manipulation, PBR materials, and post-processing pipelines.
  • Modern React: Advanced proficiency in React (Hooks, Context, Component Lifecycle).

Nice to have

• • Blender Proficiency: Ability to navigate Blender for developer-centric tasks, such as cleaning up geometry, baking textures, managing UV maps, and correctly exporting optimized glTF/GLB files for the web.
  • Ability to work through complex issues and identify required interventions.
  • General understanding of business strategies.
  • Proven ability for effective problem analysis and problem resolution at both strategic and functional level.
  • Person must have excellent interpersonal skills, and the proven ability to develop relationships and influence all levels within the organization and external to the organization with developers, and business users.
  • Demonstrated presentation, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to comply and enforce compliance of all state and federal regulations, Company standards, and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct.
