Job Description
- Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Planning & ExecutionPlan daily and weekly production as per orders and dispatch schedules.
- Allocate jobs between panel processing and sofa production sections.
- Ensure production targets are achieved on time.
- Monitor work-in-progress and remove production bottlenecks.
- Panel Processing ManagementSupervise cutting, edge banding, drilling, routing, CNC, grooving, and other panel-processing activities.
- Ensure correct dimensions, drawings, materials, and hardware are used.
- Minimize material wastage and processing errors.
- Coordinate with design, stores, and assembly teams.
- Sofa Production ManagementManage frame preparation, cutting, stitching, foam work, upholstery, assembly, and finishing.
- Ensure sofas are manufactured according to approved designs and specifications.
- Control production quality at every stage.
- Coordinate with fabric, foam, hardware, and other material suppliers/stores.
- Manpower ManagementAllocate workers according to workload and skill requirements.
- Monitor attendance, discipline, productivity, and overtime.
- Train workers in correct production methods and machine operation.
- Identify manpower shortages and arrange resources accordingly.
- Quality ControlEstablish and maintain quality standards for both panel and sofa products.
- Inspect critical stages to prevent defects from moving to the next process.
- Analyze rejection, rework, customer complaints, and recurring defects.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Productivity & Cost ControlMonitor output per worker, machine utilization, and production efficiency.
- Reduce wastage of boards, fabric, foam, adhesives, hardware, and other materials.
- Control overtime and unnecessary production costs.
- Improve production methods and workflow.
- Machine & Equipment ManagementEnsure machines are operated safely and correctly.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and breakdown maintenance.
- Monitor machine downtime and take action to reduce interruptions.
- Ensure proper use of tools, jigs, fixtures, and measuring equipment.
- Material ManagementCoordinate with stores to ensure timely availability of boards, fabric, foam, hardware, adhesives, etc.
- Verify material requirements against production plans.
- Prevent material shortages and unnecessary excess inventory.
- Monitor material consumption and wastage.
- Safety & 5SEnsure compliance with workplace safety procedures.
- Maintain proper PPE usage and machine safety practices.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and 5S standards on the production floor.
- Report and investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
- Coordination
- Coordinate with Production Planning, Design, Purchase, Stores, Quality, Maintenance, Sales, and Dispatch teams.
- Communicate production status, delays, shortages, and quality issues to management.
- Ensure smooth movement of materials and finished products between departments.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Prepare daily production reports.
- Track target vs. actual production.
- Monitor rejection, rework, wastage, downtime, and productivity.
- Conduct daily production meetings and follow up on pending actions.
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify process bottlenecks and eliminate unnecessary activities.
- Improve layouts, work methods, production flow, and material handling.
- Introduce standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Drive improvements in quality, productivity, delivery, cost, and safety.
