Planning Engineer

Project Planning

1.     Prepare the project plan (tasks scheduleing & sequencing) in Primavera or MS-Projects

2.     Preparing work schedules by incorporating dependencies with equipment supplier, erection agency, testing and commissioning team

3.     Establish productivity standards for all trades depending on site conditions & project requirement

4.     Preparation of detailed schedule from Bill of Quantities

5.     Coordinate with the engineering and procurement department regarding the interfacing of construction activities and Material & Equipment availability.

Resource Management

1.     Ensure material & equipment availability as per the project plan

2.     Optimize levels of inventory of all items, especially A & B class items

3.     Eliminate instances of work stoppage (or delay) due to lack of resources / material availability

4.     Develop alternate vendors for critical items in coordination with Purchase

5.     Identify, develop & empanel vendors for project level / local purchases

Monitoring & Controls

1.     Review & monitor project progress on a regular basis and define corrective action for schedule & cost adherence

2.     Prepare & circulate daily progress report, weely / monthly MIS to all stakeholders

3.     Measure productivity achieved and evaluate against the standards (or targets) defined

4.     Proactively identify, evaluate and create mitigation plans for project risks in consultation with all stakeholders

5.     Ensure timely & comprehensive communication to all stakeholders on project progress & other techno-commercial issues

6.     Ensure collaboration and proper communication across various external & internal entities in the project (client, consultant, management, design team, production team, project team, document controller and others)

Financial & contractual control

1.     Seek work completion certificates from client and raise bills in a timely manner

2.     Manage working capital requirement and follow up with client for timely payments, if required

3.     Ensure project progress is in-line with all contractual terms and conditions

Process Orientation

1.     Comply with and also ensure compliance from project team members with all SoP for project management

2.     Ensure contractual terms and conditions are met and approvals are taken from client for additional work

3.     Ensure proper documentation in coordination with document controller at HO

People Management

1.     Prepare manpower budget and schedules; approve mobilization & de-mobilization plans for various trades

2.     Review performance and give timely feedback to individual team members

3.     Ensure high productivity of individual team members (& also as a team)

4.     Ensure high morale of team members; provide opportunities to team members to learn & grow professionally

Educational Qualification : UG: B.E (Civil)

PG: Masters in Construction Management or equivalent

Additional Qualifications / certifications: MS-Project and / or Primavera
