• Key ResponsibilitiesOperate Vertical Machining Centre (VMC) machines safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload components, fixtures, and tools as per production requirements.
• Set work offsets and tool offsets under the guidance of the supervisor (where applicable).
• Read and understand engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Perform in-process inspections using measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and bore gauges.
• Ensure components meet quality requirements before submitting them for inspection.
• Change cutting tools and monitor tool wear during machining.
• Maintain machine cleanliness and follow 5S practices.
• Report machine abnormalities, breakdowns, or quality issues to the supervisor.
• Record production details and maintain daily production reports.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Required SkillsExperience operating VMC machines.
• Basic understanding of machining processes.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of measuring instruments.
• Basic understanding of cutting tools and machining parameters.
• Good attention to quality and accuracy.
• Willingness to work in shifts if required.
• QualificationITI (Fitter, Turner, Machinist, CNC Operator) or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Relevant experience in CNC/VMC operations will be preferred.
• Preferred SkillsExperience with Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Siemens, or similar CNC controls.
• Basic understanding of G-Code and M-Code.
• Knowledge of tooling, fixtures, and machine maintenance.
• Experience working in the machine tool or precision machining industry.
