AutoGenius is a professional automotive consulting and inspection company helping customers make confident decisions when buying new and used cars.

We conduct detailed 238-point vehicle inspections, evaluate mechanical and cosmetic condition, identify accident/repair history, assess vehicle value, and provide customers with an independent, professional opinion before they purchase a car.

We are looking for a Car Evaluator who is passionate about automobiles and has a strong eye for detail.

The Role

As a Car Evaluator, you will be responsible for inspecting and evaluating new and used cars on behalf of our customers.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can look beyond the obvious, identify potential problems, understand how a vehicle should perform, and communicate findings clearly and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed inspections of new and used cars using AutoGenius's inspection checklist.
• Inspect the vehicle's:
• Engine and transmission
• Suspension and steering
• Braking system
• Electrical and electronic systems
• AC and HVAC system
• Tyres and wheels
• Exterior and interior
• Underbody and chassis
• Engine bay
• Fluids and visible leaks
• Identify signs of:
• Accidental repairs
• Repainting and panel replacement
• Structural/chassis damage
• Flood/water damage
• Mechanical wear
• Odometer manipulation or inconsistencies
• Poor-quality repairs
• Neglected maintenance
• Perform OBD scanning and interpret basic diagnostic fault codes.
• Conduct road tests and evaluate vehicle behaviour, including engine, gearbox, steering, suspension, braking and NVH.
• Verify service history, invoices, RC details and other available vehicle documents.
• Take clear photographs and videos of important findings.
• Prepare accurate inspection reports with observations and recommendations.
• Explain technical findings to customers in simple, easy-to-understand language.
• Coordinate with the AutoGenius technical team and management whenever a major issue is identified.
• Travel to dealerships, workshops, individual sellers and other locations for vehicle inspections.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate should:

• Have 2–5 years of experience in automobile evaluation, vehicle inspection, service, diagnostics or a similar automotive role.
• Have strong practical knowledge of cars and their mechanical systems.
• Be able to independently evaluate a vehicle rather than simply follow a checklist.
• Have a sharp eye for identifying accident repairs, paintwork and mechanical issues.
• Understand OBD diagnostics and common automotive fault codes.
• Be comfortable conducting road tests.
• Have good communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers.
• Be disciplined about documentation, photographs and reporting.
• Be willing to travel locally for inspections.
• Have a valid driving licence and be comfortable driving different types of cars.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience as a:

• Vehicle Evaluator
• Used Car Inspector
• Automobile Technician
• Service Advisor
• Diagnostic Technician
• Workshop Technician
• Quality Inspector
• Used Car Buyer/Evaluator

will be preferred.

Experience with premium and luxury cars will be an added advantage.

What Matters Most

At AutoGenius, we are not looking for someone who simply knows how to service a car.

We are looking for someone who can answer the most important question for our customer:

"Should I buy this car or should I walk away?"

You should be curious, technically strong, detail-oriented and willing to investigate even when something looks normal at first glance.

Compensation

₹18,000 – ₹30,000 per month, depending on experience and technical expertise.

Performance-based incentives may be offered based on role and performance.
