SILICON VALLEY IMMERSION PROGRAM TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. Introduction:
Silicon Valley Immersion Program (SVIP) aims to encourage creativity and problem-solving skills among the citizens of India organised by Apnatime Tech Private Limited ("Apna").
Before participating in SVIP, you must read all the terms and conditions as specified herein. By registering to SVIP, you unconditionally agree to all the terms and conditions applicable to SVIP.
2. SVIP COMPETITION:
The SVIP Competition ("Competition") is divided into three rounds:
- a) ROUND 1: MCQ Based Aptitude Test covering general aptitude and Silicon Valley Trivia - Open for all
- b) ROUND 2: Case Solution Submission- For shortlisted Participants from Round 1
- c) ROUND 3: Grand Finale: in Bengaluru
Please note: The Competition will be conducted in English language. The logistics costs for finalists including travelling expenses (airfares and cab fares), accommodation and meals shall be borne by Apna. The accommodation will be provided on a shared basis with the same gender.
3. WHO CAN PARTICIPATE:
SVIP Competition is accessible to the following ("Participant"):
- a) Your age must be above the age of 18 years.
- b) You must be a citizen and resident of India.
- c) You must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent graduation degree (or actively pursuing one).
Apna reserves the right to refuse any participation or to disqualify any Participant during the Competition if according to Apna, the information found is incorrect or any wrongful behaviour is adopted by the Participant during the Competition.

5. COMPETITION TIMELINE:

Shortlisted Participants for the Final Round will be required to RSVP within 24 hours of the results being announced. If a Candidate fails to do so, Apna has the right to cancel the participation of the Candidate in the Competition.
6. REWARDS:
- a) The Winning Team (i.e., 2 Participants) will get a Cash Prize of INR 2.5 Lakhs (Indian Rupees Two Lacs Fifty Thousand) *
- b) The First Runners-Up Team (i.e., 2 Participants) will get a Cash Prize of INR 1.5 Lakhs (Indian Rupees One Lac Fifty Thousand) *
- c) Top 3 Teams (i.e., 6 Participants) will get an opportunity to win a fully funded opportunity to meet global leaders in Silicon Valley, USA.
* Cash Prize is subject to deduction of TDS and any applicable taxes. The Reward is non-transferable and only the winning team Participants shall be entitled to the Rewards. Additionally, the Prize is non-transferable and non-cashable.
Fully Funded visit to Silicon Valley USA for the Top 3 Teams of the Competition
Top 3 Teams will get an opportunity to visit Silicon Valley, USA. The visit is fully funded which will include Return economy airfare, cab transfer facilities, accommodation during the visits including meals, Visa Costs (including the Service Charges), cost of SVIP to be paid for arranging the logistics.
7. FAQ’s
What will be the mode of Competition?
The Preliminary Rounds of the Competition will be held online and the Final Round will be held offline in Bengaluru.
What will be the venue of FinalRound?
The final round will take place at a location decided by Apna and will be communicated to the Participants.
Who are eligible to participate in the Competition?
- • The SVIP is open to all Indian citizens and residents above the age of 18. Must have at least a graduation/bachelor’s degree (or actively pursuing one)
- • Must have at least a graduation/bachelor’s degree (or actively pursuing one)
- • School Students are not eligible to participate in the competition
What is the team size of the Competition?
The Participation is on an individual basis. Finalists will be paired during the Final Round through a lucky draw by Apna’s team. They will then compete in pairs for the prizes. The top 3 teams will win the Silicon Valley trip.
Who will bear the travel and accommodation costs for the FinalRound?
The Organizers will handle the logistics expenses for the finals which shall include travelling, accommodation and meals.
8. Miscellaneous

Apna reserves the right to amend or modify the terms and conditions at its sole discretion.
- •
The personal data of Participants collected during the Competition shall be processed in accordance with the applicable Data Protection laws and regulations and in accordance with Apna’s Privacy Policy. Apna undertakes to adopt all measures to protect the personal data of the Participants.
- •
Participants and/or teams are prohibited from any direct and/or indirect contact with the media and using Apna’s name, logo and trademarks, except if specifically authorized in writing by the Apna’s representative. Any breach of this section by a Participant will lead to its disqualification.
- •
Apna may, at its sole discretion, disqualify a Participant and/or team from participating if the Participant and/or team shows a disregard for these terms and conditions, or acts in any unsporting manner. In the event of any suspected fraud and/or unfair participation, Apna reserves the right to conduct any verification, as it may deem necessary. Any established fraud or unfair action shall entail the Participant’s immediate and final disqualification, without prior notice. Apna may exclude any Participant and/or team if the Participant and/or team intends to damage any Apna’s material or information. Apna has the right to prosecute any Participant and/or Team if the Participant and/or Team members try to destroy, disrupt, damage or alter the proceedings of the Competition.

Apna defends the values of tolerance and of respect for the rights of others. For this reason, the Platform may not be used as a vehicle for racist, violent, xenophobic, malicious, obscene or illicit proposals. In using this Platform, Participants agree not to:
✔Upload viruses or other harmful code
✔Publish content likely to incite hatred, violence or the commission of certain crimes or offences, threatening content, pornographic content, content containing nudity or gratuitous violence, or any other form of inappropriate content
✔Distribute information or content capable of upsetting the sensibilities of young people
✔Conduct illegal activities, including, but not limited to, infringing upon the rights as to software, marks, photographs, images, text, video etc.
✔Post any content allowing the identification of any person, including by disclosing their address or telephone number or breaching their privacy
✔Breach the general terms of use of the Platform

While participating in the Competition, especially when having access to any content provided within the Apna platform, the Participants and Teams will have access to information and know-how of all kinds. The Participants and Teams must take all necessary precautions and measures to keep the information strictly confidential and not disclose it, with the exception of information which is already in the public domain.
- •
In case of an unpredictable event preventing Apna from organising the SVIP event, there will be further notice given to the Participants. Apna reserves the right to cancel the SVIP event at any time at its sole discretion. Participants will be informed through the platform and other Apna’s official communication channels.
- •
Participation in the SVIP event competition cannot in any way be deemed to give rise to any contractual relations with Apna or any of its’ affiliates and in particular any employment rights. All the winners should have a valid Indian passport with at least 12 months of validity from the date of the grand finale. Apna will not provide any reimbursement or any financial support to acquire a passport.Apna will not be responsible for any injury, loss to property, damage or theft either during the Competition and/or during the Silicon Valley trip. By participating, you are confirming that you are eligible to receive the relevant visa from the USA.

By accepting the terms and conditions of these terms and conditions, as a Participant in the Competition, you hereby expressly authorise us, free of charge, to: reproduce, display, modify, adapt (including any translation), transfer and distribute your Image in connection with the Competition for Apna’s in-house or external, corporate communication purposes (including the – Apna’s subsidiaries’ annual report or activity reports), promotional and advertising purposes in relation to the – Apna Competition, and for any public relations purposes, historical or archival purposes, including via the following media:
✔Posting in any format, in unlimited quantities;
✔Television, unlimited number of broadcasts;
✔In the written press and magazines, unlimited number of publications;
✔Via the Internet (via any website and/or media, including websites known as the "social networks" such as Instagram, Facebook, YouTube etc.);
✔Via any other advertising media
The term “Image” is understood as referring to the full set of attributes of the Participant’s personality, including but not limited to their image, voice, family name and forenames, signature, capacities stemming from their professional activities and their professional designation(s). This authorization shall include the possibility for – Apna to adapt your Image as initially fixed and make any clarification thereto as it may deem useful provided that it shall not alter your image or words. This authorization is granted free of charge commencing from the date of first use of the Participant’s Image for a five (5) years term. It is understood that communication materials reproducing Participants’ Image may be difficult to remove from the Apna’s social media channels and sharing websites (such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube etc.), and Participants agree that such communication materials may remain on social media channels and sharing websites as they were originally posted provided that after the aforementioned 5 years term, Apna shall not repost or authorize others to repost such materials. You hereby expressly declare that you hold any and all rights and all necessary authorizations required for the quiet enjoyment by Apna of the rights assigned hereby. - •
The Competition is organized by Apna and as the projects are built from Apna’s brief and ideas, and as similar development may be currently under progress, all concepts communicated by Teams and Participants during the Competition shall not be considered as being able to lead to any concrete developments, which could give rise to intellectual property rights. Should any submission items/material include any industrial property right, registered or not (patents, trade secrets, know-how) – participants should expressly mention it to Apna in writing before presenting such submission materials to – Apna. Apna reserves the right to refuse submission of items/material covered by Industrial Property rights. Notwithstanding the foregoing, in the event where the items, contents submitted to- Apna by Participants in the context of their participation in the Competition give rise to any intellectual property rights, by accepting the Terms and Conditions, the participants will assign on an exclusive basis, to Apna which accepts, all rights of reproductions, representation, adaptation or translation attached to the items (designs, slogans, models, etc.), on all support medias including those which are unknown on the date of the Competition, for all purposes of internal or external communications, including corporate communication (inter alia the Apna Annual Report, Apna activity reports and or its subsidiaries, brochures, letters to shareholders...) as well as for all public & press relations purposes and for commercial, promotional and advertising purposes, notably in relation to the products commercialised by the – Apna and/or the brands of Apna, for the legal duration of the intellectual property right and its potential renewals for the entire world, without any limitations of number. This assignment of rights will be granted and accepted free of charge. Participants hereby expressly declare that they hold any and all rights and all necessary authorizations required for the quiet enjoyment by Apna of the rights assigned hereby.

Any disputes, questions and/or claims relating to the Competition up to, and including, the selection of the Participants must be submitted fifteen (15) days after the announcement of the winning Team of at the latest. The dispute, questions and/or claims must be sent in English to Apnatime Tech Private Limited by registered mail with acknowledgement of receipt at the following address: [.....]the Apna committee will meet and a reply will be sent within one (1) month of receipt. Any decision of the committee shall be binding and final. No Participant shall have any further right to recourse or to appeal. These rules are governed by India law and all disputes arising from the competition will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts at Bangalore.

The original rules of this Competition will be the sole valid set of rules. We may be required to amend these rules inter alia to comply with any new legislation and/or applicable regulations. Any amendment shall be integrated within these rules and shall be announced on the Platform. In the event that any clause hereunder is declared null or void, it shall have no impact on the validity of the Terms and Conditions themselves.

Apna reserves the right to shorten, modify, or cancel the Competition, without the Teams and/or Team member being able to claim compensation thereof. Apna’s concepts, content, look-and-feel, logo and all other graphic elements and organization are and will remain the sole property of Apna. Apna is not responsible for errors in the entries of Teams and Team members, malfunction of the Platform, incorrect e-mail addresses, or connection problems related to the Competition. Teams will not be reimbursed for material or resources used in the preparation of their presentation, for expenses related to trips to Apna or to the associated communication agency.

Participant shall indemnify, defend and hold harmless Apna and its affiliates and their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, successors and assigns from and against any and all liabilities, expenses (including legal fees), damages, penalties, fines against any direct, indirect or consequential damages. Apna and its affiliates shall not be liable under or related to this Competition for any of the following, whether based in contract, tort or any other legal theory, even if a Participant and/or an individual has been advised of the possibility of such damages: any incidental, punitive, special, exemplary, consequential, or other indirect damages of any type or kind; or the Participant’s, or any third Party’s property damage, or loss or inaccuracy of data, or loss of business, revenue, profits, use or other economic advantage.

Apna reserves the right to disqualify a Participant either during the Competition or at the time of declaration of the Final Round results, on account of any breach of the Terms and Conditions, wilful misconduct, fraud, misrepresentation, negligence and/or gross negligence attributable to the Participant.
