SAP PLM Functional Consultant – Senior 1 / Senior 2 (Process Industry)

 

 

Experience: 3–6 Years

 

 

Role Summary

 

Drive end-to-end SAP PLM functional delivery for process industries (Consumer goods, Food & Beverages , Life Sciences). Translate business requirements into scalable PLM solutions, enable process transformation, and ensure compliant, efficient product lifecycle execution.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

• Business Analysis & Solution Design
  • Gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into functional specifications (AS-IS, TO-BE, Gap analysis)
  • Design scalable, compliant PLM processes aligned to business objectives
• End-to-End PLM Process Design (Process Industry)
  • Innovation & Portfolio Management – Idea intake, prioritization, governance
  • Product Development & Formulation – Recipes, trials, specifications, lifecycle iterations
  • Product Master Data & BOM Management – Formulation BOMs, specifications, data integrity
  • Change & Release Management – ECR/ECO, approvals, versioning, traceability
  • Regulatory & Compliance Management – Ingredient compliance, labeling, regulatory adherence
  • Cross-functional Collaboration & Quality Integration – R&D, QA, regulatory alignment
• Solution Configuration & Delivery
  • Participate in solution architecture discussions; define standard vs. custom solutions
  • Configure SAP PLM modules and support enhancements
• Testing & Deployment
  • Develop and execute test strategies, scenarios, and scripts
  • Support UAT and ensure defect resolution and quality release
• Training & Enablement
  • Conduct user training and develop functional documentation
  • Drive knowledge transfer and adoption
• Collaboration & Support
  • Work with cross-functional and technical teams (integration, data migration, interfaces)
  • Manage defects and track progress (JIRA / Azure DevOps)
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Stay updated with SAP PLM capabilities and industry best practices
  • Drive delivery excellence, quality, and strong client relationships

 

 

Required Skills

 

• Strong knowledge of SAP PLM (Recipe Development, Specification Management, EHS, PPM, ECM)
• Experience in process industries (Consumer goods, Food & Beverages , Life Sciences)
• Expertise in PLM process design and transformation
• Hands-on experience in configuring SAP PLM solutions
• Understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks
• Experience with integration (SAP ERP/S4, Quality, Supply Chain)
• Strong testing, UAT, and defect management
• Proficiency in JIRA / Azure DevOps
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to work in global, cross-functional teams

 

 

Education

 

• Bachelor of Engineering (B.E./B.Tech)
