Overview

This role will be part of Bangalore Brokerage Operations team. The role involves financial control responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and supporting compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements. The current role is for late EMEA shift and candidate is expected to be open for supporting this shift

Principal Responsibilities

  • Establishing and documenting reasoning for variance and control analysis periodic thresholds.
  • Reviewing thresholds regularly and adjusting as needed for changes in business environment or practices.
  • Escalating issues such as material errors requiring adjustment, inappropriate accounting practices, planned or foreseeable exceptions to policy, or any issue that may compromise financial reporting integrity.
  • Ensuring proper resolution of escalated issues.
  • Produce periodic (month / quarter/year-end) analytics report and trend data to assist with the review and validation of financial results. May have direct interaction with committees and/or Senior Management
  • Production of the monthly management pack / metrics for BU (Brokerage)
  • Respond to and resolve queries on a timely basis from the Business (Front office trading, operations), finance control and middle office stakeholders
  • Audit Management: Coordinate with internal and external audits to ensure compliance with statutory, risk & control requirements.
  • Invoice Processing & Management: Receive, verify, code, and enter broker / vendor invoices, ensuring proper approval before payment.
  • Reconciliation: Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in invoice data, such as number of trades, rate applied, duration, markets, asset type and other information

Required Skills & Experience

  • for internal applications - 12 months as Analyst II
  • Graduate / Postgraduate in Commerce / Accounting
  • 2+ years of experience in the Financial Services Industry / Asset Servicing Experience will be preferred (Please mention if previous work experience was relevant to Financial Services Industry)
  • Good technical skills, most notably MS office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook), Power BI & SQL are key requirements.
  • Added Advantage if candidate has experience in a corporate financial control environment or accounting practice with a sound knowledge of accounting, reporting and financial control requirements as well as statutory and audit requirements
