A Day in the Life
This position will be responsible for the daily operations and support to Medtronic Hiring Managers, Human Resources, finance leaders and their global peers by working in a cross-functional team. This position will have daily interaction with suppliers, supplier relationship management is a critical responsibility.Make recommendations where necessary to improve processes and systems in order to reduce the overall cost of acquisition of temporary labor. Negotiate contract rates with supplier on behalf of Medtronic managers in order to continue to control costs. Assist managers in the identification of quality resources in a timely manner while managing cost controls and compliance to Contingent Workforce Policies. Collaborate with leadership and peers to identify the best solution related to the identification and onboarding of external talent. Ensure that Medtronic risk is mitigated by complying with company policies and staying aware of labor laws and specific risks related to the external workforce. Communicate opportunities for continuous improvement, issues and risks to Program Leaders.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for managing the full procurement lifecycle for specified category of contingent labor spend.
- Responds to and resolves operating issues, escalates to Program Leaders as necessary.
- Understands the goals of the program, and makes recommendations to Hiring Managers based on industry knowledge.
- Provide support and training to Hiring Managers through the entire Procure to Pay process related to Contingent Workers.
- Facilitate Q&A sessions between suppliers and Hiring Managers on requisitions as needed.
- Negotiate rates with Suppliers to obtain fair market price for each position via a competitively bid program model.
- Manage On/Off Boarding process and facilitate assignment changes (including extensions, transfers, backfills, etc.).
- Work closely with Program Managers and Coordinators to deliver premium service to the Medtronic users.
- Serve as primary point of contact for Suppliers and Managers based on specific support function and geography.
- Understand Medtronic quality risks and triggers that would expose the organization to data privacy and security risks.
- Develop proactive Supplier and Stakeholder relationships.
- Ensure compliance with client procurement policies, guidelines, and processes.
- Deliver comprehensive reporting (Standard & Ad-Hoc) to customer as requested or work with Program Reporting Analyst to submit requests and establish prioritization.
- Conduct ongoing user training for Medtronic users and suppliers.
- Provide consultancy to Medtronic managers; staffing strategy, day to day supplier management / issue resolution
- Independent Contractor and pre-identified (Payroll) management.
- Responds to and resolves operating issues, escalates where necessary to Program leadership.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, guidelines, and processes.
- Communicate and assist all levels of management throughout the enterprise.
- Present, align, and implement business strategy changes. Where possible, benchmark with other companies to determine best overall practices for assigned commodity area.
- Report performance to key metrics and project status as required.
- Support global customer base by communicating effectively across business unit and geographic procurement organizations, business unit functions, financial and legal groups to complete work assignments and to build partnerships in support of strategies for the assigned commodity area.
- Provide leadership and subject matter expertise on the contingent workforce.
- Mentor and advise suppliers in relation to Medtronic culture, job requirements or opportunities to grow their business within Medtronic.
- Manage and participate in Supplier Quarterly business reviews in partnership with program leaders.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Must have Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university
- Must have overall 4-8years of experience
- Must have experience in Contingent labor, Work force Management and Vendor Management tools - Fieldglass/Beeline/ VNDLY
