Job SummaryQubePlast Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced Tool Room Head / Tool Room Incharge to lead and manage the complete Tool Room operations for our plastic injection moulding facility. The candidate will be responsible for mould maintenance, new mould development, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, manpower planning, and ensuring maximum mould availability with minimum production downtime. The role requires close coordination with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Purchase teams to achieve production and quality objectives.

• Key ResponsibilitiesManage complete Tool Room operations and lead the Tool Room team.
• Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of injection moulds.
• Ensure timely availability of moulds for production as per planning.
• Supervise mould assembly, trials, modifications, repairs, polishing, and servicing.
• Monitor mould performance and improve mould life through continuous improvements.
• Analyze recurring mould failures and implement root cause corrective actions.
• Coordinate new mould development, mould trials, and production handover.
• Ensure proper maintenance of mould history cards and maintenance records.
• Plan manpower, machine utilization, and daily Tool Room activities.
• Monitor inventory of Tool Room consumables, spare parts, and critical components.
• Coordinate with external vendors for mould manufacturing, repairs, texturing, heat treatment, and spare procurement.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety procedures, and 5S practices.
• Drive cost reduction, productivity improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support Production and Quality teams in resolving tooling-related quality issues.
• Train and mentor Tool Room technicians and operators.
• Required SkillsStrong knowledge of Plastic Injection Moulds and mould maintenance.
• Hands-on experience with Hot Runner & Cold Runner moulds.
• Knowledge of CNC, VMC, EDM, Wire Cut, Milling, Grinding, Lathe, and Tool Room machinery.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, mould drawings, and GD&T.
• Knowledge of mould steels, cooling systems, ejector systems, sliders, lifters, and core mechanisms.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good leadership, planning, and team management abilities.
• Knowledge of TPM, 5S, Kaizen, and preventive maintenance systems.
• Basic computer knowledge for documentation and reporting.
• QualificationsDiploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die Making, or Plastic Engineering.
• NTTF / CIPET / GTTC certification will be an added advantage.
• Experience10–15+ years in Plastic Injection Moulding Tool Room.
• Minimum 3–5 years experience in a Tool Room Head / Tool Room Incharge / Senior Tool Room leadership role.
• Experience in rigid plastic packaging (bottles, jars, caps, closures, containers, etc.) will be preferred.
• Preferred Candidate ProfileStrong leadership and decision-making skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tooling projects simultaneously.
• Excellent coordination with Production, Quality, and Maintenance departments.
• Result-oriented with a focus on reducing downtime, improving mould life, and enhancing productivity.
