Summary:
As a Custom Software Engineer, a typical day involves creating tailored software solutions by designing, coding, and improving various components within systems or applications. The role requires owning DevOps tooling, pipelines, and automation across an enterprise on-prem environment, with understanding of Zscaler. Collaboration with different teams and continuous refinement of software elements are integral parts of the daily workflow, contributing to the overall success of projects and organizational goals.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines across an on-prem enterprise estate
- Build and manage infrastructure automation using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar
- Ensure deployment pipelines and service connectivity work correctly within ZScaler-controlled network boundaries (ZIA/ZPA)
- Troubleshoot connectivity, routing, and access issues where ZScaler policy intersects with DevOps tooling
- Collaborate with the network security team to ensure ZScaler policies don't break builds, agent connectivity, or internal service traffic
- Maintain container orchestration and internal platform services within a secured network environment

Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in DevOps or platform engineering role within a large enterprise
- Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling — Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or equivalent
- Infrastructure-as-Code proficiency: Terraform, Ansible, or similar
- Working knowledge of ZScaler (ZIA/ZPA) — specifically how it affects outbound traffic, agent behaviour, and internal service connectivity
- Solid Linux administration and scripting capability (Bash, Python)
- Experience working in on-prem or hybrid environments, not purely cloud-native

Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 6 years of experience in DevOps.
- This position is based at our Pune office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
