The Data Science Intern will support the Data Science team within the Insights & Analytics (I&A) organization, contributing to both business operations delivery and innovation-led initiatives.

Major Accountabilities
The role provides hands-on exposure to real-world data science applications in commercial analytics, enabling the intern to work on data-driven decision-making, process optimization. The intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights, improve operational efficiency, and prototype innovative solutions, while developing strong foundations in data science, analytics, and business problem-solving.

A. Business Operations Support

• Assist in data preparation, cleaning, and validation across datasets (e.g., claims, sales, promotional data)
• Support execution of multiple data science models
• Contribute to ongoing model monitoring, QC checks, and performance tracking
• Help in documentation of workflows, SOPs, and process artifacts to ensure delivery consistency
• Collaborate with team members to identify and implement process efficiency improvements

B. Analytics & Insight Generation

• Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify patterns, trends, and insights
• Support development of basic statistical/ML/DL models under guidance
• Translate analytical outputs into business-relevant insights and recommendations

C. Innovation Initiatives

• Contribute to innovation pilots (e.g., Ml/DL use cases, automation tools, insight generation)
• Assist in building prototypes, proof-of-concepts (PoCs), or accelerators
• Stay updated with emerging ML/DL techniques (automation frameworks) and support experimentation
• Help document and scale successful innovation use cases

D. Collaboration & Learning

• Work closely with data scientists, product owners, and business stakeholders
• Participate in team discussions, problem-solving sessions, and knowledge sharing

Demonstrate a structured approach to problem-solving and communication

Delivery & Execution

• Tasks completed within defined timelines
• Accuracy and quality of data processing / analysis outputs
• Compliance with SOPs, QC standards, and documentation practices

Skills:

• Python, SQL, ML, DL basics, etc.
