Lead Infrastructure Engineer - Autosys Engineering

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer to join the AutoSys Engineering organization and support the design, implementation, modernization, and operational excellence of the AutoSys platform. This role will play a key part in driving platform engineering initiatives focused on reliability, automation, resiliency, cloud adoption, and service modernization while ensuring stable and secure workload automation services for the enterprise.

The Lead Infrastructure Engineer will partner with Principal Engineers, SRE teams, application teams, and infrastructure organizations to deliver scalable solutions, improve operational efficiency, and advance cloud-native scheduling capabilities.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex initiatives to develop infrastructure to provide solutions for business applications
  • Participate in various projects intended to continually improve or upgrade the infrastructure
  • Evaluate internal and external software solutions which could be leveraged to meet target state architecture goals
  • Review and analyze high impact outages to ensure the proper processes and procedures are in place to avoid problems in the future
  • Design, build, deploy and maintain infrastructure solutions through collaborative efforts with the team and third party vendors
  • Design, code, test, debug and document programs using Agile development practices
  • Make decisions in technical designs, implementation plans and identify project risks and resource requirements
  • Direct the daily risk and control flow of operations, focusing on policies, procedures and work standards to ensure success
  • Recommend courses of action to maintain cost effectiveness and achieve results
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Interact with customer and vendor


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting enterprise workload automation platforms such as AutoSys, Control-M, TWS, or equivalent scheduling technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows & Linux systems administration and enterprise infrastructure environments.
  • Experience with automation and scripting technologies including Python, Shell, PowerShell, or similar languages.
  • Experience working with OpenShift, Kubernetes, container platforms, and cloud-native technologies.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and DevOps practices.
  • Experience implementing platform monitoring and observability solutions using Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, AppDynamics, or similar tools.
  • Understanding of distributed systems, high availability architectures, resiliency engineering, and disaster recovery concepts.
  • Experience supporting platform upgrades, technology refreshes, and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure and platform-related issues.
  • Experience designing or implementing self-service solutions and operational automation capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise governance, compliance, risk management, and change management processes.
  • Experience supporting cloud migration or infrastructure transformation initiatives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across technology teams.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within large, cross-functional, and globally distributed teams.

Job Expectations:

  • Support the design and delivery of scalable, resilient, and secure AutoSys platform solutions.
  • Drive automation initiatives that improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Support cloud transformation, platform modernization, and containerization efforts.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, Operations, and SRE teams to deliver automation-first and self-service capabilities.
  • Ensure platform reliability, performance, security, and operational excellence.
  • Participate in major incident management, problem management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to technical standards, engineering best practices, and platform governance activities.
  • Mentor junior team members and help build strong technical capabilities within the organization.
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders to deliver enterprise-scale scheduling and automation solutions.
  • Support strategic initiatives focused on platform currency, cloud enablement, and workload automation modernization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting and modernizing enterprise workload automation platforms such as AutoSys, Control-M, or TWS, including platform upgrades, cloud adoption, and automation initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of observability, monitoring, logging, and automation frameworks for enterprise platforms.
  • Experience developing self-service capabilities, automation solutions, and platform integrations to improve operational efficiency.
  • Familiarity with enterprise governance, compliance, audit, and change management processes.
  • 3+ years of experience in platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, or distributed systems environments.
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Job scheduling frameworks and workload orchestration.
    • Cloud and container platforms (OpenShift, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, or GCP).
    • CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and DevOps practices.
    • Platform resiliency, disaster recovery, and high-availability architectures.
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, AppDynamics, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in automation and scripting using Python, Shell, PowerShell, Ansible, or similar technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex platform and infrastructure issues.
  • Experience working within large-scale, cross-functional, and globally distributed engineering teams.
