Job Description & Summary:  

 

We are building a market-leading Sustainability Transformation practice focused on delivering measurable EBITDA improvement through sustainability-led interventions. 

 

Unlike traditional ESG consulting, our focus is on unlocking value through: 

  • Energy transition and decarbonization 

  • Resource efficiency and circularity 

  • Waste-to-value transformation 

  • Digital operations transformation 

  • AI-enabled industrial optimization 

  • Sustainable supply chain transformation 

 

The Director will lead large transformation programs across sectors including chemicals, cement, metals & mining, industrial manufacturing, consumer products and industrial manufacturing. This is a client-facing leadership role responsible for originating, selling and delivering large transformation engagements. 

 

Responsibilities:

The Director will lead large transformation programs across sectors including chemicals, cement, metals & mining, industrial manufacturing, consumer products and industrial manufacturing. This is a client-facing leadership role responsible for originating, selling and delivering large transformation engagements. 

In PwC, we have realized that sustainability-led transformation requires multiple competencies to collaborate to drive value for organizations.  

 Lead Sustainability-Led Cost Reduction Programs: Drive enterprise-wide cost transformation programs focusing on: 

a) Energy (Energy efficiency, Utility optimization, renewable and fuel switch, heat recovery, process electrification and decarbonization) 

b) Materials (Industrial symbiosis, by-product monetization, waste valorization, circular business model and alternative packaging) 

c) Logistics (network optimization, fleet decarbonization and supply chain efficiency) 

Lead Engineering & Digital Enabled Transformation  

a) Experience in delivering Digital manufacturing diagnostics, Process digital twins, Operational command centers, Industrial IoT applications, Advanced analytics platforms, Predictive maintenance, AI-enabled process optimization, Computer vision applications, Energy management systems 

b) Hands-on experience to use machine learning/ GenAI/ optimization algorithms/ Digital twins/ Reinforced learning/ Advanced PLCs to deliver improvements 

Client Leadership 

Should have an executive presence and interact seamlessly with CXOs/ Boards/ Manufacturing Heads/ Plant Heads 

Business Development 

Own revenue growth across priority sectors that will include Opportunity identification, Proposal development, Commercial negotiations, Executive relationship management, and Account growth 

Mandatory skill sets:  

  

Net-Zero Studio/ Decarbonization, Sustainability-Led Value Creation (resource productivity, circularity, energy optimization), AI/ Digital Sustainability (Industrial Engineering + AI, Digital Twins)  

Preferred skill sets:  

  

  • Domain experience is critical. Experience in one of the following industries: Chemicals, Cement, Metals & Mining, Consumer Products, Industrial Products and Pharma. 

  • Strong understanding of digital (IT/ OT) ecosystem 

  • Good communication skills & executive presence 

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Team building & people skills 

  • Business Development 

  • Sales 

  • Client Management

Experience: 12 years+ 

Education qualification:  

  

B.tech/ B.E. from Tier 1 colleagues is must. MBA is an added advantage.
