Job Description

Associate Manager - PMR

Responsibilities

Shift In-charge - Hydro – Copper

Production Planning and Execution:

  • Oversee the hydro refining process to ensure continuous production and adherence to set quality standards.
  • Manage the scheduling and coordination of shift activities to meet production goals.
  • Assess production issues in real-time and make necessary adjustments to maintain operational efficiency.

Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and output.
  • Work closely with engineering and technical teams to develop solutions that reduce waste and optimize resource use.
  • Monitor refining operations to ensure they meet the evolving demands of the market and technological advancements.

Quality Assurance and Control:

  • Maintain strict quality control throughout the refining process to ensure product meets or exceeds specifications.
  • Oversee the sampling, testing, and documentation of refined products to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Address and resolve quality issues promptly to prevent impact on production schedules and customer satisfaction.

Equipment Monitoring and Troubleshooting:

  • Regularly inspect refining equipment and systems to ensure they are operating correctly and efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot operational problems and coordinate maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Keep track of equipment performance trends and implement preventative maintenance programs.

HSE and Regulatory Compliance:

  • Enforce company safety policies and regulatory compliance standards within the hydro refining operations.
  • Conduct regular safety drills and training to ensure staff are prepared for emergency situations.
  • Stay updated with environmental regulations affecting refining operations and implement compliant practices.

Cost management and budgeting:

  • Develop and manage the budget for hydro refining operations, focusing on cost-efficiency without compromising safety or quality.
  • Monitor spending and adjust budgets as necessary to address new operational challenges or opportunities.
  • Provide regular cost reports and financial analysis to senior management.

Resource and Workforce Management:

  • Lead a team of refining professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations.
  • Manage staff scheduling, training, and development to build a skilled and knowledgeable workforce.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.

Reporting and Data Analytics:

  • Prepare detailed reports on production, efficiency, and compliance for review by senior management.
  • Analyze process data to identify trends and areas for improvement in the refining operations.
  • Use data analytics to support strategic decisions and improve process control and product quality.

Digitisation and Tech Adoption:

  • Champion the adoption of new digital tools and technologies to enhance operational efficiency and data management.
  • Oversee the integration of digital systems into daily refining operations to streamline workflows and improve record-keeping.
  • Evaluate new technologies and assess their potential impact on refining processes and outputs.

  • Maintenance Team

  • Chemical Suppliers
  • Equipment Vendors

Qualifications

Education Qualification:

Diploma/Engineering Graduate in Chemical Engineering or Metallurgy.

Work Experience (Range of years):

Over 10 years of experience in shift within hydrometallurgy.
