EY-ServiceNow – Senior Consultant (Dev Lead – ITAM/SAM)

As part of our EY GDS-ServiceNow team, you will work to solve client problems using the ServiceNow platform, with a focus on IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM). The opportunity

We’re looking for a Senior professional with strong ServiceNow ITAM and Software Asset Management (SAM) development and leadership experience to join the EY GDS ServiceNow team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a leading firm while delivering enterprise-scale ITAM/SAM implementations and driving software compliance and optimization strategies.

 

Your key responsibilities 

• Lead ServiceNow ITAM/SAM development and implementation activities, ensuring alignment with client requirements
• Design, develop and configure Software Asset Management (SAM Pro) solutions including software normalization, reconciliation, and compliance tracking
• Implement and customize ITAM modules covering hardware asset management (HAM) and software asset lifecycle processes
• Build and enhance workflows, business rules, UI policies, client scripts, and Flow Designer solutions specific to ITAM processes
• Define and implement software license management models (subscription, perpetual, SaaS, cloud licensing)
• Lead integration of ServiceNow with discovery tools, procurement systems, Active Directory, and software vendors
• Configure and maintain software catalog, entitlements, contracts, and license metrics
• Drive automation for software compliance, reclamation, and optimization
• Act as a Dev Lead, mentoring team members and ensuring high-quality delivery
• Perform code reviews, design validation, and enforce development best practices
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate SAM requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Support audit readiness, compliance reporting, and vendor true-up activities
• Develop dashboards and reports for license usage, compliance posture, and cost savings
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to SAM and ITAM implementations

 

Skills and attributes for success

• Strong hands-on experience in ServiceNow ITAM and SAM Pro implementations
• Deep understanding of Software Asset Management concepts: normalization, reconciliation, licensing, compliance, and optimization
• Experience with software licensing models (Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe, SaaS vendors, etc.)
• Proficiency in JavaScript, Glide API, and ServiceNow scripting
• Experience in Flow Designer, workflows, and Service Portal/UI Builder
• Strong knowledge of CMDB and asset lifecycle management
• Experience with integrations (REST APIs, MID Server, third-party tools)
• Familiarity with discovery data and its use in license reconciliation
• Understanding of ITIL processes and IT asset lifecycle management
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum and DevOps delivery models
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills

 

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
• Approximately 6–10 years of IT experience, with significant experience in ServiceNow ITAM/SAM
• Proven experience as a Senior Developer or Dev Lead in ITAM/SAM implementations
• ServiceNow CSA certification (mandatory)
• ServiceNow CIS – Software Asset Management (preferred/mandatory depending on role)
• ITIL Foundation certification (preferred)

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Experience with SAM Pro advanced features (Content Library, normalization, reconciliation engine)
• Exposure to hardware asset management (HAM Pro)
• Experience in software audit support and vendor compliance (e.g., Microsoft, Oracle audits)
• Knowledge of cloud/SaaS license management and FinOps concepts
• Awareness of latest ServiceNow features including AI-driven asset insights and automation
