Senior Manager - Quality Assurance

Senior Manager, Quality Assurance, Cybersecurity Asset Management 

About the Role 

Qualys is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Quality Assurance to lead and scale the QA organization responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, performance, and security of our Cybersecurity Asset Management product. In this role, you will define and execute the quality strategy across asset discovery, inventory management, and security solutions across physical, virtual, cloud, and containerized environments. You will play a key leadership role in defining how organizations discover, manage, and secure their digital assets globally. 

You will work closely with Engineering, Product Management, DevOps, Customer Success, and Sustenance teams to drive quality throughout the software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with proven leadership experience managing QA organizations for enterprise SaaS platforms. 

Responsibilities 

Leadership & Strategy 

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of leads, automation engineers, and quality engineers. 

• Define and execute the overall quality strategy for CSAM and Unified Asset Inventory platforms. 

• Establish quality metrics, KPIs, and release readiness criteria across products. 

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase product quality, test coverage, and engineering efficiency. 

• Mentor the team to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) to significantly improve test productivity, reduce release cycles, increase automation coverage, and accelerate root cause analysis. 

Quality Engineering 

• Define comprehensive testing strategies covering functional, integration, regression, performance, scalability, reliability, and security testing. 

• Ensure high-quality releases in an Agile environment with frequent deployments. 

Automation & Platform Quality 

• Drive automation-first testing practices across backend services, APIs, microservices, and web applications. 

• Expand automated regression coverage and reduce manual testing effort. 

• Partner with engineering teams to implement quality gates within CI/CD pipelines. 

• Establish automated validation frameworks for large-scale asset ingestion and data processing systems. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

• Partner closely with Product Management to understand requirements and customer use cases. 

• Collaborate with Engineering leadership to improve development and testing practices. 

• Work with Security Solutions, Customer Success and Sustenance teams to analyze production issues and improve product quality. 

• Participate in customer escalations and drive quality improvements based on customer feedback. 

Operational Excellence 

• Establish release governance and quality review processes. 

• Track and communicate quality metrics, defect trends, automation coverage, and release health. 

• Drive root cause analysis for critical issues and implement preventive measures. 

• Manage QA resource planning, budgeting, hiring, and career development. 

Qualifications 

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field. 

• 12+ years of software quality assurance experience with at least 5+ years managing QA teams.  

• Experience leading QA organizations supporting enterprise SaaS platforms.  

• Strong understanding of test automation frameworks and quality engineering best practices.  

• Hands-on experience with Generative AI technologies, LLMs, AI copilots, and AI-assisted software development tools. 

• Experience testing distributed systems, microservices architectures, and cloud-native applications.  

• Hands-on experience with API testing, integration testing, and backend platform validation.  

• Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.  

• Experience with performance, scalability, and reliability testing.  

• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience in cybersecurity, asset management, vulnerability management, or risk management platforms 

• Experience validating cloud platforms across AWS, Azure, and GCP. 

• Familiarity with large-scale data processing technologies such as Kafka, Spark, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, and distributed databases. 

• Familiarity with compliance and audit requirements in cloud environments. 

• Understanding of secure software development and security testing practices.
