Job Description
Position: Senior Technician - Electrical
Department: Maintenance
Reporting To: Supervisor
Location: Chromepet, Chennai – 44
Job Overview
Responsible for supporting electrical maintenance activities for CNC, VMC, forging machines. Ensures smooth machine operation by assisting in electrical checks, minor repairs, and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in electrical maintenance and breakdown support for CNC, VMC, forging machines.
- Check and maintain electrical panels, wiring, sensors, contactors, relays, motors, and drives.
- Help senior technicians in troubleshooting electrical faults, alarms, and interlocks.
- Support preventive maintenance activities and maintain basic PM checklists.
- Perform routine checks on control panels, limit switches, proximity sensors, and safety devices.
- Assist in installation and electrical connection of new machines.
- Follow safety rules, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and 5S practices.
- Maintain simple documentation like daily maintenance logs and service notes.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of industrial electrical systems.
- Understanding of motors, VFDs, control wiring, sensors, and electrical panels.
- Ability to use multimeter and basic testing tools.
- Willingness to learn CNC/VMC electrical maintenance.
- Good problem-solving attitude and teamwork.
Education & Experience
- ITI / Diploma/Engineering in Electrical / EEE
- 1–3 years experience in electrical maintenance (manufacturing industry preferred)
- C Licence is an added advantage
