Job Description for Engineer - Firmware

 

 

 

Primary Objective of position:

 

Work independently on Embedded software development projects. Design, document and implement embedded software consists of control functions, communication protocols, drivers, local LCD user interface, and web page user interface running on Linux or open-source or a real-time operating system. These systems are used to control DC power system in telecommunications and data center applications. 

 

 

Job Responsibility

  1. Leading project and coordinating the interface with other international design teams
  2. Contribute in project requirements
  3. Develop plans, and schedule 
  4. Develop detailed level software design documents based on project requirement
  5. Develop software in C/C++ technologies and web pages
  6. Conduct software peer and code reviews. 
  7. Recommend plan to improve software quality in products.

 

 

Job Requirements

  1. BE - Computer Science \ Electronics Engineering or Equivalent.
  2. 4-7 years of experience in embedded software development in Linux environment.
  3. C & C++ experience is a must.
  4. Real-time operating system experience is must.
  5. Application development & driver interfacing with RS-485 and communications. Modbus, CANOpen, Ethernet and TCP/IP protocol is must.
  6. Own the project and coordinate with functional contacts at different locations.
  7. Ability to develop readable, robust, reliable, well-structured code is a must
  8. Ability to review code for readability, and robust/reliable operation in an embedded system is a must. 
  9. Ability to identify and correct embedded software problems like race conditions and re-entrancy issues is a must.
  10. Application development & driver interfacing with RS-485 and communications Modbus, CANOpen, Ethernet and TCP/IP protocol is preferred.
  11. Experience working with OpenBMC & Redfish APIs is preferred.
  12. Experience with CGI, Json, HTML, Ajax, jQuery is preferred.
  13. Power domain preferred.
  14. Web/CGI application background is a plus.
  15. CMMI Process Knowledge is preferred.
  16. Ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English.
  17. Good Interpersonal skills & Strong Team Player.
