Job Role Description
Focus of Role: Independent project execution and optimization
Job Role Responsibilities
- Lead and execute small to medium‑scale control system projects, ensuring scope, schedule, and quality objectives are met
- Analyze process operating data to identify inefficiencies, troubleshoot performance gaps, and recommend data‑driven optimization solutions
- Collaborate closely with operations, maintenance, process engineering, and IT teams to align control strategies with business and operational goals
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements in all control applications and project activities
- Develop, validate, and deploy DMC controllers and real‑time optimization (RTO) models for complex processing units
- Lead plant‑testing activities, including step‑testing, dynamic model identification, controller tuning, and commissioning
- Optimize process performance through constraint management, economic objective functions, and advanced optimization methods
- Interface with operating personnel to monitor controller performance, address operational concerns, and drive operator engagement and acceptance
- Integrate DMC and RTO applications with planning, scheduling, and plant information systems to enhance end‑to‑end optimization
- Apply advanced control theory, dynamic modeling, and simulation tools to improve unit reliability and profitability
- Utilize project‑management methodologies to coordinate tasks, manage timelines, and communicate effectively across functional groups
- Support integration of control systems with plant information systems to enhance data integrity, visibility, and decision‑making
