Summary:

As a SAP Platform experts, you will serve as an integral member of the SAP Platform Ranger Squad team, with responsibilities that include conducting technology and platform assessments, providing informed recommendations, and driving improvements in the architecture, design, and deployment of large-scale SAP applications, infrastructure, data, integrations, and related systems. The role places a strong emphasis on automation, performance optimization, and operational excellence. You will be expected to innovate and scale SAP solutions and applications, ensuring their seamless integration and high availability across the enterprise. Additionally, as a platform ranger, you should demonstrate proficiency with the latest technologies and tools, such as generative AI, and actively disseminate this expertise throughout all SAP solutions.

As an ABAP on HANA Technical Architect, you will be responsible for defining, architecting, and leading high-performance, scalable solutions leveraging SAP HANA s in-memory capabilities. You will design data models, optimize ABAP logic through code pushdown, and implement modern development practices such as AMDP, CDS Views, and SQLScript.
Your role will involve close collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance data access using HANA views, Core Data Services (CDS), and ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDP). You will ensure end-to-end solution integrity, deliver performance tuning strategies, and promote database-guided development aligned with SAP s latest best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
Architect and lead ABAP on HANA development using CDS Views, AMDP, and Open SQL enhancements.
Drive Code Pushdown strategy to optimize performance within the HANA in-memory architecture.
Design and implement HANA calculation, analytic, and attribute views for transactional and analytical scenarios.
Develop Native SQL and SQLScript logic in AMDP for data-intensive computations.
Lead performance tuning initiatives using SQL Monitor (SQLM), Runtime Analysis (SAT), Performance Trace (ST05), and ATC (ABAP Test Cockpit).
Collaborate with data architects to define semantic data models using CDS Annotations, Associations, and Path Expressions.
Integrate ABAP on HANA solutions with OData Services, SAP Gateway, and SAP Fiori/UI5 front-ends.
Implement database-guided development for analytical and transactional reporting.
Ensure adherence to Clean Core, Zero Modification, and upgrade-safe design principles.
Oversee transport management, version control, and CI/CD automation for ABAP on HANA projects.
Provide governance on security and authorization models aligned with HANA roles and ABAP layer restrictions.
Mentor teams on CDS View layering (Basic, Interface, Consumption) and performance-aware coding practices.

Must-Have Skills:
Experience: 18+ years of experience leading enterprise-scale SAP transformation programs with specialization in HANA optimization, code pushdown strategy, and modern ABAP architecture aligned with SAP s Clean Core and performance principles.
Strong experience in ABAP on HANA development, including CDS, AMDP, Open SQL, and Native SQL.
Deep understanding of Code Pushdown, Database Guided Development, and Column Store optimizations.
Expertise in HANA modeling – Calculation Views, Analytic Views, Attribute Views.
Proficiency in SQLScript, ADBC (ABAP Database Connectivity), and CDS Annotations.
Solid knowledge of HANA Full Text Search, Delta Merge, and Calculation Engine performance mechanics.
Experience with ATC, SQLM, ST05, and SAT for performance and quality assurance.
Strong understanding of OData services, SAP Gateway, and Fiori/UI5 integration.
Familiarity with Eclipse/ADT, HANA Studio, and SAP HANA Cockpit for end-to-end development.
Exposure to SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP and S/4HANA data dictionary integration.
Experience with ABAP Cloud / RAP and BTP ABAP Environment (Steampunk).
Understanding of CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model) for side-by-side extensions.
Familiarity with SAP Integration Suite, Event Mesh, and Analytics Cloud integration.
Knowledge of SAP Build Apps, Generative AI, and data-driven automation tools.

Education:
