Job Summary

The Sales Automobile Trainer is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs to improve the knowledge, skills, and performance of the dealership sales team. The role focuses on enhancing product knowledge, sales techniques, customer engagement, and overall dealership sales performance while ensuring compliance with company standards and OEM guidelines.


Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and conduct sales training programs for new and existing sales staff.
  • Deliver product knowledge training, including vehicle features, specifications, technology, and competitive comparisons.
  • Train sales consultants on the complete sales process, including prospecting, lead management, customer engagement, test drives, negotiation, and closing techniques.
  • Conduct induction and onboarding training for new sales employees.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, observations, and performance reviews.
  • Identify skill gaps and recommend development plans for individual employees and teams.
  • Provide on-the-job coaching to improve sales conversion and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure adherence to OEM sales processes, dealership policies, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with Sales Managers to schedule and execute regular training sessions.
  • Prepare training materials, presentations, manuals, and assessment reports.
  • Monitor sales performance and recommend training interventions to achieve business targets.
  • Support product launches by organizing and delivering model-specific training.
  • Maintain training records, attendance, certifications, and performance reports.
  • Stay updated on new vehicle technologies, market trends, and competitor products.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Automobile Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Certification in Training or Learning & Development is an added advantage.

Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in automobile sales, sales training, or dealership operations.
  • Experience working with passenger vehicle dealerships is preferred.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of automobile sales processes and dealership operations.
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, and coaching skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Sound knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM).
  • Excellent product knowledge and competitor analysis skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Dealer Management Systems (DMS).
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to motivate and develop high-performing sales teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple training programs.
  • Willingness to travel to dealership branches as required.
