We are recruiting an India/UK qualified graduate who can be effective member of the KGS OGC team, that complements the activities of the UK Data Privacy Office that sits within UK Office of the General Counsel of KPMG LLP. The role is focused on ensuring compliance with data protection legislation and to support the UK Data Privacy Office with matters of Data Protection compliance.

The new recruit will complement the activities of the members of the onshore team by:

• Assisting with Data Subject Access Requests 

o collation of documents

o determine relevance of information with assistance from UK Data Privacy Office

o redaction 

• Assisting with Data Privacy Impact Assessments

o understanding of the new processes and applications

o assessment of privacy impact

• Managing the Data Privacy Risk register

o monthly review of risks and follow-up with risk owners for updates

o prompt escalation of critical risks to the DP manager or the DPO

• Mailbox Management for UK Data Privacy Office

o responding to queries

o allocation of tasks

o tracking completion

• Reporting

o collate statistics from various systems and stakeholders

o create Management Information (MI) for Data Protection Officer

o trend analysis

• Assisting UK Data Privacy Office in other related matters as may be required

Mandatory Skills

• Qualifications: Graduate or LLB

• Total Experience: 0 to 1 years of post-qualification experience.

   

Preferred Skills

• Experience and knowledge of data protection laws/GDPR is desirable not mandatory
• analytical abilities 
• ability to articulate points in writing and orally, clearly and succinctly
• capabilities in MS Office, share point and use of websites
• willingness to acquire knowledge of OGC’s practices and processes
• ability to be calm under pressure
• ability to handle difficult or pressurized situations or people

• initiative, self-confidence and authority
• understanding of the risks faced by providers of professional services
• awareness of cultural issues affecting regulated professional services firms
