Petrochemicals: Adani Group is making significant strides in the petrochemical landscape with the establishment of its inaugural petrochemical complex, named Green PVC. This initiative aligns with our broader strategy in the petrochemicals, oil & gas, and downstream sectors.The Petrochemicals Business Unit is spearheading the Green PVC project, which entails a substantial investment of INR 26,000 crore. This investment is focused on integrating the acetylene route to facilitate sustainable polyvinyl chloride (PVC) manufacturing. Currently in the execution phase, the project is on track to deliver its first product by June 2026.

Job Purpose: The Construction HSE Team Member is responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of safety standards and practices on-site, promoting a culture of safety, and maintaining compliance with HSE guidelines. This role involves monitoring contractor adherence to safety policies, conducting HSE inductions for new joiners, and participating in emergency response drills. The team member also conducts routine inspections and investigations to identify and mitigate hazards, ensuring a safe working environment. Additionally, the role supports stakeholder communication by providing safety updates and coordinating site HSE Committee meetings.

Construction HSE Team Member-PETCHEM

HSE Management and Assurance:

Ensure safety measures are met and followed by monitoring contractor compliance with safety policies and practices at the site.

Support the implementation of safety standards and guidelines by ensuring they are effectively applied at the site.

Ensure new joiners are familiar with site safety procedures and guidelines by conducting HSE induction and facilitating the skill evaluation process.

Promote safe practices at the job site by actively engaging in safety measures and encouraging adherence to safety policies.

Safety Management and Compliance:

Ensure all safety standards and guidelines are implemented by monitoring and verifying compliance at the site.

Ensure readiness and effective response to potential emergencies by performing emergency response drills.

Support the development and implementation of the Emergency Response and Disaster Management Plan (ERDMP) by ensuring adherence to guidelines.

Ensure the identification of unsafe or hazardous conditions by conducting routine inspections at work fronts and informing the responsible work-front supervisor or discipline engineer.

Ensure adherence to safety practices by conducting investigations of accidents and near-misses to identify causes and recommend hazard mitigation methods.

Foster a culture of safety by ensuring that Safety observations/Safety Samwaad are conducted on-site and that observations are closed in a timely manner in coordination with respective Line Managers.

Strengthen site safety governance by ensuring that Contractor Safety Committee meetings and AIC meetings are conducted as per the Site HSE Governance Structure.

Enhance safety compliance by ensuring the completion of Safety Risk Field Audits, Permit to Work, and LSSR audits, sharing non-compliance findings with the respective Line Managers for prompt closure.

Stakeholder Management:

Facilitate effective communication and coordination on safety matters by conducting site HSE Committee meetings.

Support stakeholder updates by providing relevant safety information and updates during HSE meetings and reviews.

Foster continuous improvement in safety performance by sharing lessons learned from incidents to prevent future occurrences.

Ensure effective employee training by completing eLMS in a timely manner to support ongoing development and compliance.

Promote a culture of safety excellence by implementing a Rewards & Recognition scheme to sustain and motivate good performance among contractors in safety practices.

Advance digital safety management by leveraging the SAFEX Portal to streamline safety processes and enhance reporting.

Enhance the organization's safety culture by actively participating in national campaigns that promote safety awareness and best practices.

Educational Qualification:

Bachelor's / Diploma degree in Engineering or a related area required.

A full-time course (One Year) in Industrial Safety from a reputed college/Technical Board of Education required.

A Master's degree preferred.

Work Experience (Range of years):

3-7 years of relevant work experience in the Petrochemical / Oil & Gas industry. Hands-on experience handling oil & gas / petrochemical / chemical projects of similar size and scale.

Familiarity with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, including knowledge of codes, standards, and various acts.

Experience in audit and incident investigation.
