​As a Software Engineering Manager, you are responsible for guiding cross-functional engineering teams, including software, quality, and reliability engineers to drive strategic technical direction and operational excellence. You act as a primary bridge between business stakeholders and technical execution, ensuring that all solutions align with EFX secure development guidelines and architecture standards. Your core focus includes defining technical vision and roadmaps, managing service level objectives (SLAs/SLOs/SLIs), overseeing complex system design, and fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and talent development. You balance the tactical needs of sprint execution with long-term strategic initiatives to deliver scalable, secure, and compliant software solutions.

What you will do

• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including product, business, and sales partners. Simplify complex technical problems for non-technical audiences.

• Manage and mentor cross-functional engineering teams (Software, Quality, and SRE). Foster a culture of accountability, continuous upskilling, and high performance.

• Partner with architects and SRE leads to define, maintain, and report on SLA/SLO/SLIs. Ensure team compliance with secure software development lifecycles (SSDLC) and FinOps KPIs.

• Lead sprint planning, retrospectives, and drive comprehensive technical documentation, including system support runbooks.

What experience you need

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) with 10–14 years of software engineering experience, including at least 3+ years in a people management/supervisory role overseeing engineering squads.

• Proven experience leading the design and development of scalable solutions using Event-Driven architecture and RESTful APIs.

• Strong experience with public cloud platforms—GCP or AWS preferred—alongside a solid understanding of CI/CD practices.

• Experience collaborating with SRE teams to establish operational metrics (SLAs, SLOs, SLIs).

• Demonstrated success in handling end-to-end HR responsibilities, including hiring, talent retention, performance management, and capacity planning.

What could set you apart

• Possession of an associate or professional level Cloud Certification (GCP / AWS).

• Experience driving legacy application modernization or cloud migration strategies.

• Strong hands-on background in modern backend ecosystems (e.g., Modern JDK 17+, Spring Boot) OR modern front-end stacks.

• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks (JUnit, Selenium) and continuous integration tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD).

• Prior experience working within the Financial Services or FinTech domain.

• Technical Roadmap: Develop long-term technical visions and system designs within your domain. Participate in high-level architectural decision-making, including refactoring and End-of-Support-Life (EOSL) planning.
