Role Purpose:
The Drydocking Manager supports the Head of Docking in the day-to-day management and operational execution of the global drydocking program for Maersk-owned vessels.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the day-to-day operational pipeline of all upcoming, ongoing, and recently completed drydocking's across the fleet.
Support pre-docking planning activities including scope preparation, tendering, and the end-to-end execution process.
Schedule and coordinate deployment of Docking Superintendents and Steel Supervisors across global docking events.
Support implementation of the Maersk Drydocking Model as the standard execution framework across all fleet groups.
Track completion of pre-docking inspections, UTM assessments, and steel renewal strategies.
Manage the DD Exception Tool, ensuring structured approval workflows are followed for scope variations and cost overruns.
Prepare regular cost performance summaries and docking status reports for the Head of Docking and senior stakeholders.
Ensure consistent CAPEX vs. OPEX treatment across docking events in line with defined finance guidelines.
Coordinate project review meetings, status calls, and ad hoc discussions across internal and external stakeholders.
Support the rollout of the new ERP Drydocking Module as the central digital management platform.
Maintain data integrity across technical and financial inputs to enable reliable analytics, benchmarking, and reporting.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Technical
Seagoing experience in a senior shipboard management position, combined with a minimum of 2 years of relevant shore-based experience in technical management, fleet operations, drydocking, or related maritime functions.
Good understanding of drydocking processes, class requirements, and marine regulatory frameworks.
Operational & Management
Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple concurrent docking events across geographies.
Experience in budget management, cost tracking, and financial reporting in a technical operations context.
Exposure to ERP systems and ship management platforms is an advantage.
Digital & Analytical
Proficient in MS Office and MS Project; experience with BI tools (Power BI / SNOW) preferred.
Comfortable working with data platforms and digital management tools; experience with drydocking or maintenance management systems is a plus.
Ability to synthesize operational and financial data into clear management insights.
Personal Attributes
