Reports to: Director, Scientific and Operations Intelligence
Role Summary
This is an India-based global role supporting Amgen's global obesity business. The Senior Manager will help shape the capability and translate its vision into high-quality intelligence work across scientific and operational priorities, including Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, R&D, Supply Chain, and Operations.

Success requires the ability to navigate ambiguity, structure complex business questions, and translate them into high-quality analytical work through a combination of direct contribution, team leadership, and partner collaboration. Strong analytical judgment, scientific curiosity, business acumen, and stakeholder management are essential.
As the capability grows, the Senior Manager will help coach Managers, Senior Associates, Associates, and partner resources while raising the quality, speed, and usefulness of the team's analytical delivery.

- Assess operational risks, supply constraints, timing considerations, and strategic dependencies early enough to influence planning, readiness, and execution.
- Translate operational complexity into practical implications that stakeholders can understand and act upon.
4. Analytical Delivery and Initiative Leadership
- Structure ambiguous business questions, define the analytical approach, and guide work from initial problem framing through recommendation.
- Coordinate work across internal team members, external partners, vendors, and subject-matter experts to ensure high-quality delivery.
- Challenge assumptions, pressure-test analyses, and ensure conclusions are supported by evidence and sound logic.
- Synthesize diverse information into practical recommendations that help stakeholders evaluate options, understand trade-offs, and determine clear next steps.
5. External Landscape and Emerging Opportunities
- Monitor scientific, competitive, regulatory, policy, healthcare-system, and market developments that may influence obesity strategy, execution, operations, or future opportunities.
- Assess how emerging trends, opportunities, and risks may influence scientific, medical, operational, and business priorities.
- Support stakeholders in evaluating potential response options.
- Establish practical approaches that improve awareness of important external developments without creating unnecessary reporting burden.
6. Team Leadership, Coaching and Quality
- Coach Managers, Senior Associates, Associates, and partner resources as the team scales and the portfolio of work expands.
- Set clear expectations for analytical quality, structured problem solving, stakeholder communication, and delivery discipline.
- Create an environment that promotes intellectual curiosity, analytical rigor, accountability, and encourages the team to think beyond assigned deliverables toward the underlying business problem.
