Job Description
The Retail Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the retail store, ensuring excellent customer service, achieving sales targets, managing inventory, and leading the store team to deliver business objectives.
- Key ResponsibilitiesStore OperationsManage overall store operations and ensure smooth functioning of the store.
- Maintain store appearance, cleanliness, and visual merchandising standards.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Monitor daily opening and closing activities.
- Sales & Revenue ManagementAchieve monthly and annual sales targets.
- Develop strategies to increase store sales and customer footfall.
- Analyze sales reports and take corrective actions to improve performance.
- Promote ongoing offers, discounts, and marketing campaigns.
- Team ManagementRecruit, train, motivate, and supervise store staff.
- Prepare staff duty rosters and manage attendance.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching to team members.
- Maintain discipline and a positive work environment.
- Customer ServiceEnsure excellent customer experience at all times.
- Resolve customer complaints and escalations effectively.
- Build long-term customer relationships and encourage repeat business.
- Inventory & Stock ManagementMonitor stock levels and ensure product availability.
- Conduct regular stock audits and physical verification.
- Minimize inventory losses, damages, and shrinkage.
- Coordinate with warehouse and procurement teams for stock replenishment.
- Cash & Financial ManagementMonitor daily cash collections and banking activities.
- Ensure accurate billing and cash handling procedures.
- Control store expenses and maintain profitability.
- Qualifications & Experience Graduate in any discipline
- 3–7 years of experience in retail operations, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in FMCG, supermarket, value retail, or circular economy retail operations preferred.
- Required SkillsStrong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Sales and target-oriented mindset.
- Inventory and stock control knowledge.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office, and retail software/POS systems.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
