Job Description for Storage and Data Protection Engineer

This opportunity is with LTM Ltd for the position of Storage and Data Protection Engineer Operations Looking for an experienced IT engineer to join a team responsible for Storage and data protection and associated services within an exponentially growing financial company

The Storage and Data Protection engineer will primarily be responsible for managing multiple data centers storage arrays and backup products located both onprem and cloudbased in a 24x7 highlyavailable production environment

Must be aware about ITIL methodologies Incident Service Request Change and Problem The role demands excellent communication skills oral and written good customer handling skills and excellent collaboration skills with ability to work in shift 24X7 The person will contribute towards effective resolution of the issues The person will contribute towards achieving project deliverables SLAsKPIsImprovements etc

Operations Requirement

Support the administration of Storage or Backup infrastructure with knowledge in at least any one the Storage technologies Dell EMC Storage and Backup

Monitor the Storage backup environment on a daytoday basis to ensure service availability as per SLA

Provide firstline investigation diagnosis and support

Monitoring of Storage and Backup s

Generate Daily Weekly Reports for BackupStorageVolume and LUNS

Work with Support for maintenance of Storage and Backup devices log calls with support and assist in log collection to resolve HW and SW issues

Manage and the incidents assigned

Perform activities like backup configuration and data recovery based on user service requests

Escalate service level issues to appropriate team members for quick resolution of issues

Execute performance tasks on storage and backup devices and ensure devices are healthy

Strong Knowledge on Performance analysis factors of Storage Arrays

Knowledge of using Powermax Powerscaleisilon

Certification of Dell EMC technology is an added advantage

Good skills in performance optimization

Solving complicated Hardware cases and Liaising with Hardware Vendor Dell EMC support

In depth Knowledge on ITIL processes like Incident management Problem Management Configuration management and Change Management processes

Experience in Designing Configuring and troubleshooting Fabric Environment constituting Brocade McDataConnectrix Cisco switches

Brocade director class SAN switch L3 administration virtual fabric logical switch configurations

Product understanding Advance troubleshooting DR activities
