We are seeking a talented individual to join our CTSS at Marsh Tech. This role will be based in Noida/Gurugram .This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Virtualisation Engineering Specialist

Colleague Technology – Endpoint & Digital Engineering services are looking for an experienced Virtualisation Engineering Specialist with extensive knowledge of a range of virtualization platforms (Horizon, Microsoft Azure, AWS & Citrix is a must)

This role specializes in Cloud, Server, Network, Messaging, Mainframe, Architecture, Storage, and Application Engineering. It encompasses designing, developing, and implementing technical products and systems while managing strategies, standards, and emerging technologies. The position provides advanced engineering support, recommends design enhancements, leads engineering teams, and drives training and mentoring initiatives. Additionally, it oversees policies, budgets, and project plans, supports strategic initiatives, collaborates closely with project management, and delivers advanced hardware and operating system support. You will also be responsible for documenting operational procedures, driving service efficiency improvements, and actively engaging in projects or core business activities as directed. Staying current with virtual technologies and industry advancements is essential to success in this role.

    • Specializes in one or more of the following areas: Server, Network (voice/data), messaging/collaboration, mainframe, Architecture, Storage/backup, Applied Engineering and/or Application engineering.

    • Designs, develops, implements, and analysis of Technical product/systems.

    • Designing end-to-end virtual desktop solutions from concept to production
    • Building new environments in cloud and on-premises from the ground up
    • Running proof of concepts and pilot deployments
    • Supporting migrations from legacy desktop platforms to modern virtual environments
    • Virtualisation Application layering / packaging / app delivery
    • Capacity planning and performance tuning

    • Creates, manages and maintains strategy, standards, roadmaps and new technologies.

    • Provides advanced design and engineering functions for one or more of the following skillset areas: Server, Network (voice/data), Messaging/Collaboration, Mainframe, Implementation, Architecture, Storage/Backup, and/or Application design

    • Recommends alterations to developments and designs; improving quality of products/procedures.

    • Manages Engineering Support staff in one or more of the following areas: standards, projects, level III support issues, designs and overall IT Engineering for Infrastructure/Technology.

    • Trains, leads, mentors, Engineers and Managers

    • Creates, manages, maintains departmental policies, processes and procedures; relating to standards, projects and cross functional interoperability.

    • Prepares and tracks budgets, project/staffing plans

    Understands/communicates, Strategic/Global Initiatives and Infrastructures. Consultants to aid in the development of solutions;

    • Works closely with the Project Management Office and stakeholders to provide guidance/ advice concerning infrastructure issues

    • Identifies opportunities and recommends solutions for improving service efficiency and effectiveness.

    • Provides levels II/III support for Hardware and Operating System issues.

    • Documents Operational procedures; hand-off to the Operations Group.

    Understands/communicates, Strategic/Global Initiatives and Infrastructures.

    • Produce reports, collate feedback and proactively identify trends or procedural changes to feed into ongoing Service Improvement Plan.

    • Produce High level (HDL) and low level design (LLD) documents, runbooks, support documentation, and operational handover materials

    • Provide technical guidance/training and mentoring for other members of the team.

    • Represent the team and lead in key activities including but not limited to project engagements and service review meetings.

    What you need to have:

    • Current or previous experience of working within a support environment for Virtual Technologies.

    • Good level of technical understanding of a range of software/systems including Windows OS, Office, VMWARE, Azure, AWS, Citrix.

    • Good level of technical understanding of cloud-based virtualisation products such as MS AVD and W365, Citrix Cloud. AWS workspaces personal and core.

    • Time management skills, with the ability to prioritise work and competing requests.

    • Experience working in a busy engineering environment, proven ability to think fast and effectively, especially for escalated events.

    • Ability to respond to changing priorities & flexibility to deliver working as part of a global team.

    • Strong experience working in global and remote teams within an Enterprise level organisation

    • Relevant qualification or academic experience (i.e. relevant degree/certification)

    • Previous experience supporting a varied range of Virtual Technologies (VMWARE, AZURE, CITRIX, AWS, Dev Box, Nerdio, Terra Form, CHEF, 0 Trust network)

    • Experience with Infrastructure as Code experience, especially Terraform
    • Automation/scripting skills such as PowerShell, Python, or similar
    • Experience with Identity, security, and access management, especially with Multi factor Authentication (MFA), conditional access, and Zero Trust principles.
