Job Summary:

Responsible for leading and managing the end-to-end procurement function for the organization, ensuring cost-effective sourcing of raw materials, components, and services required for pump manufacturing. This role focuses on strategic vendor management, cost optimization, supply continuity, and quality assurance while aligning procurement activities with production and business goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing purchasing strategies.
  • Managing daily purchasing activities, supervising staff, and allocating tasks.
  • Work with suppliers, manufacturers and internal departments
  • Maintain a database of approved suppliers 
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors
  • Managing supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices, timelines, etc.
  • Negotiate lower pricing
  • Search and source potential suppliers and vendors
  • Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation.
  • Coordinating with inventory control to determine and manage inventory needs.
  • Managing the maintenance of manufacturing equipment and machinery.
  • Ensuring that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications.
  • Preparing cost estimates and managing budgets.
  • Working to improve purchasing systems and processes.
  • Training new employees in the purchasing process and how to use the purchasing system.

 

 

Basic Qualification:

  • BE or a related field.
  • Experience as a purchasing manager.
  • Deep knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.
  • Supervisory and management experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software like JDE,SAP etc.
  • Experience in Pumps/Valves background will be added advantage.

  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
