As we scale our operations, we are seeking a dynamic and innovative Product Development &
R&D Engineer to lead the engineering, design, and commercialization of our brand-new modular
ECOCEL™ Wall Partition System. This role will be based at our corporate headquarters and
manufacturing plant in Bangalore, India.

Position Summary
We are looking for a hands-on, creative, and detail-oriented R&D Engineer with a solid background
in building envelope engineering, modular drywalls, architectural extrusions, or lightweight
sandwich panel structures. The primary mandate of this position is to design, prototype,
structurally analyze, and certify a next-generation ECOCEL™ partition system targeting high sound transmission class.
You will guide the product lifecycle from initial hand-sketches and CAD layouts to laboratory
certification, tooling setup, assembly-line design, and active site-installation support.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Design & CAD Modeling
Develop comprehensive 2D layouts and 3D CAD models of new partition structures, including
vertical upright joints, perimeter double-T channels and interlocking joint splines.
Design architectural-grade aluminium frame profiles with structural ribbed channels for joint mudding.
Optimize structural sandwich panel interfaces integrating ECOCEL™ Kraft Honeycomb core with dual-facing sheets.
2. R&D Prototype & Validation Testing
Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to evaluate deflection behavior, structural shear
strength, impact resistance, and maximum span calculations under simulated wind loads and
occupancy pressures.
Lead structural prototyping and physical load-testing at our Jigani facility to ensure structural
compliance with IS 4020:1998 standards.
Establish acoustic attenuation profiles, selecting sound-dampening composites and gasketing
layouts to optimize acoustic transmission loss.
Direct the preparation and coordination of official physical testing sequences with external
certifying bodies, such as the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) NVH division
for sound transmission loss.
3. Green Certification & Compliance Integration
Design the partition assembly line to maximize the utilization of non-hazardous, zero-VOC
water-based binders and sustainably managed materials.
Map and document product parameters to meet compliance requirements for Indian Green
Building Council (IGBC) New Building Rating System credits (Materials & Resources, Indoor
Environmental Quality).
4. Manufacturing Scale-Up & Quality Engineering
Work closely with the plant production team to design specialized fabrication jigs, routing,
configurations, and assembly steps that reduce installation labor by up to .
Collaborate with tooling vendors and extrusion partners to approve die layouts, verify
tolerance stacks ( ±1.0 mm
tolerances), and perform dry-runs.
Author engineering change orders (ECO), technical product datasheets, standard operating
procedures (SOP), and step-by-step site installation manuals.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education & Experience
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Civil /
Structural Engineering, Industrial Design, or a closely related engineering discipline.
Experience: Minimum of 3 − 6 years
of direct product design and development experience
in structural drywalls, modular partitioning, office furniture systems, fenestration, or
composite sandwich panel fabrication.
Technical Competencies
CAD/FEA Tooling: Expert-level mastery of 3D CAD modeling software (SolidWorks, Autodesk
Inventor, or Fusion 360) and 2D drafting platforms (AutoCAD). Practical experience using FEA
software for mechanical stress/deflection analysis is highly desired.
Materials Science: Deep knowledge of building-component engineering, particularly
architectural aluminium extrusions, high-density gypsum board, paper
honeycomb core geometry, and structural bonding adhesives.
Standards & Certifications: Practical understanding of building codes and testing
procedures, including ASTM E-90 / ISO 10140-2 (airborne sound transmission loss), ASTM E-
chat_spark
413 (STC rating), and IS 4020 (mechanical integrity).
Sustainability Alignment: General knowledge of green building rating frameworks (such as
IGBC, LEED, or GRIHA) and green procurement requirements.
Soft Skills
Robust analytical problem-solving skills; comfortable with managing loose tolerances and
navigating technical trade-offs.
Exceptional communication and cross-functional leadership skills to interface with production
operators, external laboratory engineers, and architects.

manufacturing company.
