Job Description: Safety Inspector (Tower Crane Operations)Position OverviewWe are seeking a vigilant and detail-oriented Safety Inspector to oversee safety compliance specifically around our tower crane operations. The primary responsibility of this role is to conduct unannounced inspections at active crane sites to ensure all personnel are adhering to strict safety protocols, wearing appropriate gear, and following proper rigging and hooking procedures.

The ideal candidate will have a strong backbone for enforcement and will be responsible for issuing penalties/debit notes to any employees or contractors violating company safety policies.

• Key ResponsibilitiesSurprise Safety Audits: Conduct regular, unannounced site visits and surprise inspections wherever tower crane operations are active.
• PPE Compliance Monitoring: Verify that all on-site staff, operators, and helpers are strictly wearing the required safety gears (helmets, high-visibility jackets, safety harnesses, boots, etc.).
• Rigging & Hooking Inspection: Ensure that crane hooks, slings, and lifting tackles are properly secured and applied exactly where they are supposed to be before any lift begins.
• Safe Operation Oversight: Monitor the overall work environment around the tower crane to ensure the team is working in a manner that eliminates risks to themselves and others.
• Enforcement & Penalty Issuance: Identify non-compliant employees or contractors and immediately issue formal Debit Notes for salary/payment deductions, strictly adhering to the company’s penalty policy.
• Reporting: Maintain a daily log of inspections, noting down both compliant behaviors and safety violations with photographic evidence if necessary.
• Required Skills & QualificationsExperience: Proven experience as a Safety Inspector, Safety Officer, or HSE Supervisor, specifically on construction sites with heavy lifting or tower crane operations.
• Knowledge: Deep understanding of tower crane safety protocols, rigging methods, and standard Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Firm & Decisive: Ability to enforce rules strictly without bias and handle difficult conversations when issuing penalties or debit notes.
• Observation Skills: High attention to detail to spot unsafe practices or faulty rigging from a distance.
• Communication: Clear communication skills in English (and local languages) to explain safety violations to the workers and report to higher management.
