Design Engineer

We are seeking a detail-driven Design and Estimation Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for creating technical process designs, sizing equipment, and preparing comprehensive cost estimates for industrial plants and process systems. The ideal candidate ensures all designs are safe, compliant with global engineering codes, and cost-optimized to meet profitability targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Process Design: Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and perform hydraulic and equipment sizing calculations.
• Cost Estimation: Generate accurate estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and auxiliary services based on project specifications.
• Vendor & Bid Management: Prepare material requisitions (MR), evaluate vendor offers, and perform technical bid evaluations (TBE).
• Value Engineering: Analyze specifications to identify cost-saving alternatives and optimize design efficiency without compromising plant safety or functional requirements.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with sales, procurement, and project management teams to ensure proposals align with client expectations and budgetary constraints.
• Compliance & Standards: Ensure all designs and estimates strictly adhere to international codes (e.g., ASME, API), local environmental regulations, and corporate safety standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering.
• Experience: Proven experience in process design, equipment sizing, and cost estimation within the process industries (e.g., Dairy , chemical, Water Treatment, or Process industry ).
• Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS), CAD/drafting tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SmartPlant), and estimating/cost-tracking software.
• Analytical Skills: Exceptional ability to interpret technical drawings, read data sheets, and translate them into actionable financial budgets.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present proposals to stakeholders and negotiate with vendors.
