JOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThese procedures apply to all activities and responsibilities associated with the role of Senior Architect, including project management, design development, client interaction, and team leadership. Architects roles require strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and understanding of their respective domains, focusing on designing, or physical structures (civil) that are efficient, scalable, and meet complex needs. 

ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Architect is responsible for:

·        Overseeing the development of architectural, Civil and interior designs

·        Ensuring compliance with all relevant building codes and regulations

·        Leading project teams and coordinating with other departments

·        Communicating effectively with clients, contractors, and stakeholders

·        Mentoring junior architects and assisting in their professional development

ProceduresProject Management1.         Initiating

Projects

o   Review project briefs and set initial project objectives.

o   Organize a kick-off meeting with the project team to discuss requirements.

2.        Planning

Stage

o   Develop a comprehensive project plan detailing timelines, resources, and budgets.

o   Ensure that all necessary permits and approvals are obtained before proceeding.

3.       Execution

Phase

o   Monitor the progress of projects against the project plan.

o   Adjust project plans as necessary to account for unforeseen circumstances.

4.        Closure

o   Upon project completion, ensure all documentation is finalized and archived.

o   Conduct a project debrief with the team to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.

Design Development1.         Conceptual

Design

o   Create and present conceptual designs to clients for approval.

o   Iterate on design concepts based on feedback received.

2.        Detailed

Design

o   Oversee the production of detailed architectural drawings and specifications.

o   Coordinate with structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers to integrate all systems into the design.

3.       Design

Review

o   Regularly review design documents for quality assurance.

o   Address any issues or changes that arise during the design phase.

Client Interaction1.         Meetings

o   Schedule regular meetings with clients to provide updates and gather feedback.

o   Prepare presentation materials for client meetings, ensuring that all information is clear and accurate.

2.        Communication

o   Maintain open lines of communication with all project stakeholders.

o   Provide clear and timely responses to any inquiries or concerns from clients.

Team Leadership1.         Team

o   Assign tasks to team members based on individual strengths and project requirements.

o   Strong Communication, Project Management, Tracking progress and Managing administrative task skills

o   Conduct regular team meetings to ensure everyone is informed and aligned with project goals.

o   Provide mentoring and guidance to junior architects and interns.

ComplianceEnsure that all design work and architectural practices adhere to:

DocumentationMaintain accurate records of all architectural processes, including:

·        Project plans and schedules

·        Design drafts and revisions

·        Client communications

·        Team meeting minutes

To create detailed drawings and virtual walkthroughs, enhancing client satisfaction.
