Welder / Fitter

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Welder with 2–5 years of experience in metal fabrication and welding. The candidate will be responsible for welding and assembling components used in spiral staircases, railings, platforms, and structural steel works. The ideal candidate should be capable of reading fabrication drawings, performing quality welding, and maintaining workplace safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Welding & Fabrication

• Perform MIG, ARC (SMAW), and basic TIG welding operations.
• Fabricate and assemble spiral staircase components as per approved drawings.
• Weld MS, SS, and structural steel components.
• Ensure proper fit-up, alignment, and dimensional accuracy before welding.
• Carry out grinding, finishing, and polishing work after welding.

Drawing & Measurement

• Read and understand fabrication drawings and shop sketches.
• Use measuring tools such as measuring tape, try square, vernier caliper, and spirit level.
• Verify dimensions before and after fabrication.

Quality Control

• Ensure weld quality meets company standards.
• Minimize defects such as porosity, cracks, distortion, and undercuts.
• Perform visual inspection of welds before forwarding for finishing or painting.

Safety & Housekeeping

• Follow all factory safety procedures.
• Wear mandatory PPE (helmet, gloves, safety shoes, goggles, etc.).
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area.
• Report unsafe conditions and machine faults immediately.

Equipment Maintenance

• Maintain welding machines, grinders, and tools in good condition.
• Conduct daily checks on welding cables, electrodes, gas cylinders, and accessories.

Qualification

• ITI Welder / Fitter (Preferred)
• SSC / Intermediate
• Relevant welding certification is an added advantage
