CATIA Design Engineer

We are looking for a skilled CATIA V5 Design Engineer with experience in automotive plastic component design. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in CAD modeling, plastic product development, and automotive design standards. 

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop automotive plastic components using CATIA V5.
• Create and modify 3D models, assemblies, and 2D manufacturing drawings.
• Develop plastic parts by applying Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
• Design plastic features including ribs, bosses, snap-fits, dog houses, heat stakes, clips, locators, and mounting features.
• Perform draft analysis, wall thickness checks, undercut analysis, and feasibility studies for injection-molded components.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in CATIA V5 (Part Design, Assembly Design, Generative Shape Design, and Drafting).
• Experience in designing automotive plastic components such as interior trim, exterior trim, under-hood parts, or functional plastic assemblies.
• Good understanding of injection molding processes and plastic part design guidelines.
• Knowledge of Class-A, Class-B, and Class-C surface concepts.
• Proficiency in GD&T and engineering drawing standards.
• Experience with DFM, DFA, tolerance stack-up, and design validation.
• Preferred ExperienceAutomotive OEM or Tier-1 supplier experience.
• Exposure to complete product development lifecycle (concept to production).
• Experience handling engineering changes (ECR/ECN) and customer-specific design standards.
