DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Food Preparation:

a. Basic food preparation tasks including cleaning, marinating, peeling, chopping and cooking of

vegetables and meat.

b. Learn and follow recipes, cooking techniques, and presentation guidelines as directed by senior

chefs.

c. Assist in preparing simple dishes, salads, and desserts as required.

• Hygiene and Safety:

a. Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations, ensuring compliance with hygiene

and safety standards.

b. Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and surfaces regularly.

c. Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper food storage and waste management.

• Support Senior Chefs:

a. Assist Commis I and other senior chefs in meal preparation and service.

b. Provide support during peak service times, ensuring that food is prepared and served promptly.

c. Help in organizing ingredients and preparing mise en place.

• Inventory and Stock Control:

a. Monitor stock levels and report any shortages or quality issues to senior chefs.

b. Assist in the receipt and proper storage of kitchen supplies and ingredients.

• Learning and Development:

a. Take direction and learn from senior kitchen staff to improve culinary skills.

b. Demonstrate a proactive attitude toward learning new recipes, techniques, and kitchen operations.

c. Participate in any training programs or workshops provided by the hotel.

This is an Managerial role and requires to take decisions.

Work is closely monitored by the manager, detailed instructions and procedures and guidelines for

generations of various reports are generally provided.

Results are defined and the position sets own goals and determines how to accomplish them.

Supervisor/manager provides broad guidelines and overall direction.
