Junior Interior Designer

We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and highly motivated Junior Interior Designer to join our team.

In this role, you will work closely with senior designers and principals to support all phases of residential and commercial projects. From initial space planning and mood board creation to developing technical 2D/3D drawings and sourcing materials, you will play a crucial role in bringing sophisticated, functional spaces to life.

This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging professional to gain comprehensive, hands-on experience in design development, client management, and turnkey project execution.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design & Technical Documentation

Drafting & Space Planning: Create accurate 2D space plans, detailed elevations, and section drawings using AutoCAD or similar software.

3D Visualization: Develop realistic 3D renderings and walkthroughs (SketchUp, V-Ray, or 3ds Max) to help clients visualize design concepts.

Working Drawings: Assist in preparing comprehensive working drawing sets (GFC - Good for Construction drawings) for site execution, including electrical layouts, plumbing marking, and false ceiling details.

2. Sourcing & Material Management

Mood Boards: Compile sophisticated material boards, color palettes, and digital presentations that align with the project’s aesthetic direction.

Vendor Coordination: Source and curate finishes, fabrics, wallpapers, lighting fixtures, and modular elements (such as modular kitchens and wardrobes).

Vendor Relations: Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers to obtain quotes, verify material lead times, and request physical samples.

Creating and presenting cohesive mood boards is a core responsibility.

3. Site Coordination & Project Support

Site Measurement: Conduct precise on-site measurements and site condition assessments before design initiation.

Execution Oversight: Visit project sites under supervision to ensure construction aligns with approved 2D/3D designs and specifications.

Documentation: Maintain meticulously organized project files, meeting minutes, and client feedback notes.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a closely related field.

Experience: 1+ years of experience within an interior design firm or architectural practice. (Strong internship portfolio accepted).

Software Proficiency:

Advanced skills in AutoCAD and SketchUp are essential.

Proficiency in rendering software (V-Ray, Lumion, or Enscape) and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) is highly preferred.

Familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for formatting schedules and budgets.

Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of material properties, modular furniture construction, and spatial ergonomics.

Soft Skills: Strong verbal and visual communication skills, a collaborative mindset, excellent time management, and a keen eye for modern, luxurious design details.
