Job Description

Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations for a B2B trading business. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of accounting principles, GST compliance, ledger management, reconciliations, and ERP/Tally operations.

  • Key ResponsibilitiesRecord and verify Purchase Entries and vendor invoices.
  • Process and maintain accurate Sales Entries and customer invoices.
  • Perform Bank Reconciliation and monitor daily banking transactions.
  • Manage and account for Margin Claims, promotional schemes, and trade discounts.
  • Prepare and process Debit Notes and Credit Notes.
  • Post and verify Journal Vouchers (JV) and adjustment entries.
  • Process and track Promotional Debit Notes raised on suppliers/brands.
  • Conduct regular Customer and Vendor Ledger Reconciliations.
  • Verify outstanding balances and perform Balance Confirmations/Reconciliations.
  • Monitor Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable aging.
  • Ensure accurate GST accounting and support return filing requirements.
  • Coordinate with sales, warehouse, and management teams for transaction verification.
  • Assist in monthly closing activities and MIS reporting.
  • Maintain proper accounting records and documentation.
  • Required Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com), Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in FMCG, distribution, wholesale, or trading businesses.
  • Working knowledge of Tally, Focus ERP, Zoho Books, or similar accounting software.
  • Strong understanding of GST, debit/credit notes, and ledger management.
  • Good proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Preferred ExperienceExperience handling FMCG distribution accounts.
  • Knowledge of trade schemes, margin claims, promotional settlements, and channel accounting.
  • Experience in stock reconciliation and inventory-linked accounting.
