OT Technician

Role: Operation Theatre Technician

Job Purpose: 

Maintenance and upkeep of operation theatre to ensure its hygiene, effective functioning and availability of the various instruments and equipment

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure working of OT equipment like anesthesia machine and ventilator equipment
• Conduct regular physical verification of all the OT equipment
• Ensure working of centralized oxygen piping and that a proper and regular supply of oxygen and suction is maintained all the time
• Maintain operation theater records including that of OT fumigation 
• Maintain OT temperature and humidity as per the protocols
• Verify the functioning of the anesthesia machine and breathing system
• Ensure that the scavenging system is functional for removal of anesthetic gases
• Check and confirm all instruments and medicines are in stock and loaded on the trolley for the surgery
• Handling the C-ARM Machines during the surgery
• Assist the surgeon during the surgical procedure
• Assist the anaesthesiologist in providing drugs, IV fluids, blood transfusion, and preparing drugs
• Assist in the patient transfer or shifting from stretcher to the table or hospital room 
• Monitor patient during pre and post operative phase

Job Specifications:

• Qualification: BSc in Operation Theater and Anesthesia Technology / Diploma in Operation Theater Technology
• Experience: 2 to 3 years of experience in same role
• Technical Skills / Job related skills: knowledge on the functioning of various OT equipment, record keeping
• Management Skills: Be a good team player, maintain good people relations, flexibility to work beyond regular hours
• Communication Skills: Empathetic communication towards patients and others, command on English / Kannada
