Job Description
A printing machine operator sets up, operates, and maintains commercial printing presses (like lithographic, flexographic, or digital machines). They load materials, adjust controls for ink and paper tension, monitor production for quality, and perform routine equipment maintenance to ensure jobs are completed efficiently and without waste.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Setup: Prepare presses by loading paper/substrates, installing printing plates, and filling ink fountains.
Quality Control: Continuously monitor the printing process through control panels, pulling test sheets, and making real-time adjustments (e.g., color, registration, speed) to prevent defects.
Workflow Management: Review job orders, track material usage, and maintain detailed logs of print runs.
